Guest guest
, I watched your video and I wouldn't be too worried. My daughter also did something like this for a while when she was about 7 months old. She's 1 year old now and I can assure you she's healthy in every way. I was worried too when I saw her rolling her head from side to side but I was told by a nurse that lots of babies do this because they like the feeling. She only did this for about 3 weeks or so every now and then. She'll outgrow this behavior eventually. For now, don't worry. Guest guest
Hi , I'm positive one of my children did the same thing. I have 6, so I don't remember which child it was. One of them did that though, he/she out grew it. I honestly don't think it's anything to worry about. If you're concerned about it, mention it to your ped, I'm sure you'll be reassured all is well w/your little one. Have a great new year! > > > I posted about Leahs head whipping issue. Guest guest
Hi , I watched your video. My does a similar thing, but it's a much " softer " head movement than Leah's. Honestly, if you feel it should be checked out, if you feel something's not right, then do it. I never doubt my Mommy instinct. When was about 2 months old, he started crying funny after eating, sleeping non-stop and couldn't pass a BM no matter how much he tried. Everyone told me it was classic Colic and not to worry and all babies have trouble with BMs. I went to the Pediatrician ASAP anyway despite my Mother-In- Law laughing at me being so worried. Found out was constipated and in a lot of discomfort. Mommy knows best! ) Keep us posted about Leah. Guest guest
Hi, I had my friend take a look at the video because she says her son does the same thing (eye rolling too). She says in her son's case, it's completely behavioral and he's actually not doing it much anymore now that he is 9.5 mos. old. Guest guest
Lyndsay, I watched the video. I would still bring this up to the ped, but I think it is sensory. Dominick used to do the same thing, especially when trying to fall asleep. This is very common in sensory intergration kids.A lot of people think sensory is only a surface behavoir issue, but there is a whole body thing going on. Imagine trying to fall asleep, but your heart rate won't drop like normal and your breathing won't slow like normal....wouldn't you just want to get out of bed and scream and jump around. If you go on Dominick's site www.mybandedbaby.typepad.com you can read about the trouble at bedtime. Dominick also progressed to head banging and other issues, but has slowed a bit with some of it as he gets older. He still bangs his head on and off, but I know now to recognize the need for more input or the need to help them calm themselves down. I know we talked about something else with Leah and senory... was it feeding problems? Do a bit of reading on the sensory issues....look up info by Carol Kranowitz. Hazel's boy has sensory issues too and I noticed she responded to you too.Let me know if you have questions and what the ped. says. CAROLG > > > I posted about Leahs head whipping issue. Guest guest
Hello again ladies... Yep you guessed it. It's your favorite skin disaster! As most if not all of you know, I'm in the midst of a divorce after nearly 15 years of "togetherness". Yes, I know it's sad. I was most hurt by the loss of my longtime best friend, and that, he truly was. Nonetheless, I'm doing better now than I was three months ago. I've made great strides in dealing with it emotionally. So at this point I've come to terms with the loss and look forward to a happy future. What does thatave to do with this group you ask? I believe without any hesitation that the demise of my marriage is a direct result from the implants. The side effects were simply too much for him to handle anymore. You all know them well: 1.) Chronic fatigue this would be the worst problem. He never understood how I could go from that chronic over-achieving, can't ever sit still, so prepared for everything at all times and highly organized it ticked him off. To essentially becoming a lazy bum who had no motivation to do anything but sleep. I distinctly remember a point in this disease where the only thing I was concerned about was when I was going to get my next nap! 2.) Being scatter-brained 3.) The achy body and I guess seemingly endless complaints of poor health that none of the doctors could do anything about. Hmmmm.... 4.) The checkbook! A serious inability to keep track of money spent. So I had to laugh when there were so many others that had the same problem! Unfortunately, my Husband has arranged for himself to be on vacation during the time I see the surgeon. That being said, he has outright refused to be there to care for our two boys while I recover. My attorneys will be going to the judge to get a court order requiring him to be present to care for the kids, but they need to know a time frame for which recovery occurs. I realize that recovery will be years, but I'd like to know from ALL who have been explanted how long it took until you felt ready to care for yourself and children. (In other words, when can I tell him to leave). The recovery is different for all I'm aware of that, but if everybody chimes in, than I shall take an average. I get the feeling that explant is worse than implant? I was implanted and literally ready to return to work the NEXT day, but didn't because I felt stupid or taking "sick days" as it was. Back then I was so much more healthy and in "overachieving mode" Will I feel like death warmed over me for three weeks? Thank you ladies this is so important in order to get the judge to order him to be there..... Christene
Guest guest
Christene, The good news I have to offer you about explant is that it is far easier to recover from than implant! That has been the case in nearly every explant that I have heard of. The recovery time is fairly quick...perhaps a couple weeks at most. I had a 3 year old when I was explanted and my parents came to help, but I was able to pick him up and take care of him fairly quickly. For sure there will be sore muscles, and you need to take it easy. I was also waitressing for extra cash at that time (my husband was starting a new business and we had NO income yet), and I think I only took 2 weeks off and then I was back to lifting trays of food. So, I hope that is good news for you! Of course, I am only describing the physical pain, because all of the other symptoms of fatigue and vision disturbances, etc, were still there. I struggled through each day, but I did what I had to do. Christene, I am really sorry that you are going through a divorce. I know that it is devastating. I wish it weren't happening to you. So many women have lost the respect and love and friendship of their husbands after going through this ugly mess. Implants destroy so many things in our life. I am so sorry. But....you have a new path opening up before you. A new road to travel in life. I pray that as you get explanted and start your journey of healing, you find that the paths lead to greater joy and peace in your life, and even a greater understanding of yourself. That is what happened to me. The things I have learned have been priceless. There is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow...there is beautiful sunlight at the end of the dark tunnel. Keep those positive thoughts in mind as you go through these difficult times. Better days are ahead, I promise! Patty > > > Hello again ladies... > > Yep you guessed it. Guest guest
Christene, It doesn't sound like you've lost much - in terms of a man! . . . I'm betting he will be kicking his own butt when he sees you back to normal! . . . Regardless of who he finds, sooner or later, she will face a health challenge - and so will he! . . . Does he really think he can cut and run every time? I'm praying that you find the kind of guy who will be there through thick and thin! . . . There was a time when I didn't think my husband could handle my being sick. However, over the years, he's mellowed. In recent months, he's been wonderfully supportive! . . . Even if he's a lousy cook! Hugs, Rogene
Guest guest
Rogene, That's a very good point, what goes around comes around, and one day Mr. X might just find himself ill, perhaps with a woman who bolts when he needs her the most. Life is funny that way. I've seen it happen as you said, too, where a few years (or less) down the road, when Christene has conquered this very tough time in her life, Mr. X will be kicking himself from here to China for leaving her, and it'll be too late. Any guy who ever dumped me eventually wanted me back, and by then they weren't fit to tie my shoes - ha!! Guest guest
Christene, I have 3 small children ages 1, 3, and 6. I had explant with lift and was solo at 1 1/2 week explant. I had my husband with me for the first few days after explant. I got care for my 1 year old, so I didn't have to lift her until I was 1 1/2 week out from explant. I did however manage to drive my 3 and 6 year old to school and activities. I just really tried to be careful. For me I found explant to be way less painful compared to implant. I was able to raise my arms with no pain shortly after surgery. But I also have had to be more careful because I had a lift done. You are in my thoughts. I think it is really sad about your husband. If anything you would think he would want to be a good dad to your children. A good Dad would want his children to have a healthy mom to care for them. You are going through enough already without having to deal with a jerk. It is his loss!! You are a strong woman to have gotten this far and taking charge of your health. You are doing a great job and should be very proud of yourself!! Hugs, MK > > > Hello again ladies... > > Yep you guessed it. It's your favorite skin disaster! Guest guest
I was ex planted 2 years ago I had some major problems with my left breast and had to have two more surgeries and drains in for almost 2 months I have to mention thou I had implants for more than 28 years and yes they were both ruptured and leaking into my system. I have had and still continue have lots of symptoms regarding left over debris. I am ashamed to say also I have a husband who really isn't to supportive. I mention something to him regarding my health and he always has the same comment " there is a bad flu going around " so I have quit mentioning anything. He has been very hurtful regarding my brain fog episodes which I still have. In fact has said on numerous occasions he thinks I should get my head checked cause maybe I am crazy. Having said that I have a wonderful circle of family and friends and my dear Lea who has been a God send to me. Hang in there and do the right things like everyone is telling you here and I am sure you will bounce back in no time . This is a great group of ladies and many years of knowledge. God bless Norma -- Re: Everyone PLEASE read! Hugs, Rogene Opinions expressed are NOT meant to take the place of advice given by licensed health care professionals.
