Guest guest
Thank you very much. I appreciate all of the information, but wish chlorine weren't so dangerous. I can't find any public pools that don't use chlorine. Guest guest
I started having a reaction to the chlorine in pools a couple of years ago. I didnt understand why, but I now know it must be related to my increased sensitivity from the implants. I hate going into or even around pools. My sinuses close up and it burns my nose and airways. It is frustrating because we have a family membership to a wonderful indoor aquatic center. The kids love going there. Randy has to take the kids, becasue I cant stand it. Although, they even had a bad rash the last time they went. I have called around and some pools claim they don't use chlorine, they use bromine. I seem to have the same problems with both these chemicals. Do you know anything about bromine? It is a good thing I live a mile from Lake Michigan. I don't seem to have a problem with natural water. The only problem I have had in the past year is the cold. My joints hurt in anything below 70 degrees. Luckily again, my 5mm wet suit, I used for diving really helps. It does look awufull funny when everyone else at the beach are sporting bikinis and I am in a long think black wet suit.....lol Lglory2glory1401 <glory2glory1401@...> wrote: Here's a few links on the subject:http://www.mainstreamozone.com/Chlorine%20Vs%20Alternatives.shtmlhttp://www.mainstreamozone.com/ozonefacts.shtmlhttp://www.simpsonenvironmental.com/applications/poolandspa.html--- In , "glory2glory1401" <glory2glory1401@...> wrote:>> Hi Laurie,> You are right in questioning this....it's true that the chlorine in > pools is very damaging, not only through skin absorption, but from > the chlorine gasses that are inhaled as we breathe so close to the > surface of the water.
