Guest guest
We need your help again in this important call alert tomorrow. Thanks for making the calls. Let us know how they were received. Thanks. and Pam Virtual Phone Bank Call Alert Subject: Nationwide Action Alert: Call FDA Acting Commissioner von Eschenbach and your elected officials on Thursday, March 30th and on Wednesday, April 5th Background: As you may know, two whistleblowers have come forward alleging that the rupture rate provided to the FDA by Mentor was skewed. One of the whistleblowers claims that textured silicone gel breast implants made by Mentor have a design flaw that results in a higher rupture rate than smooth shell implant. He also claims that the higher rupture rate has not been accurately reported to the FDA. Acting Commissioner von Eschenbach has requested an investigation by the FDA Office of Criminal Investigations (OCI). We believe this is an important first step in assessing the veracity of these allegations. However, FDA may approve Mentor's silicone breast implants BEFORE the investigation is complete. Therefore, it is time to turn up the heat on FDA Commissioner von Eschenbach and Congress. So on Thursday, March 30 and Wednesday April 5 we would like your help for a national phone-in protest. That's right, on Thursday, March 30 we want all our activists to call the FDA and Congress. Let's see if we can flood their switchboards. Then let's do it all over again on Wednesday April 5. We need to let them know that we aren't going away. We are asking you to make three phone calls, one to Commissioner von Eschenbach's office and to each of your Senators to voice your objections to FDA approval for silicone breast implants. And spread the word to you friends and families to make calls too! Phone Numbers: FDA Commissioner Dr. von Eschenbach: 1-888-463-6332; then press option 3 " contact employee " and ask the operator for von Eschenbach's office. Congress – alan can you fill in with switchboard number, ask for your Senator's office and then ask to speak to the Health Legislative Assistant. Message Text: And here's what you should say to von Eschenbach's office: I am calling to voice my concern that the FDA has expressed its intent to approve silicone breast implants made by Mentor Corporation-- despite the lack of safety data and despite serious allegations that the company misrepresented safety information. Please DO NOT issue a final decision on approval before ALL allegations have been thoroughly investigated. Women's health and lives depend on it. Here's what you should tell your Senate office: I am calling to voice my concern that the FDA has expressed its intent to approve silicone breast implants made by Mentor Corporation-- despite the lack of safety data and despite serious allegations that the company misrepresented safety information. Please ask Acting Commissioner von Eschenbach to NOT issue a final decision on approval before ALL allegations have been thoroughly investigated. Women's health and lives depend on it. After you make you calls, please email us at info @commandtrust.org to tell us you made the call and what the response was. Thank you for stepping up your activity to help us as we approach the FDA's decision day. ~~~~ www.BreastImplantAwareness.org
