" I've just travelled through Sweden and Finland, looking at faces that were real, that had their life experiences on them, as opposed to in Hollywood [where] everybody is starting to look alike. I said no, I'm not going to do it, somebody's got to give a face to getting old. " Miss Fonda's decision to speak out comes at a time when the plastic surgery craze in Hollywood appears to be reaching epidemic proportions. Stars such as Demi , Griffith, Farrah Fawcett, Joan Rivers, Cher and Mickey Rourke have all tried to hold back the march of time with repeated cosmetic surgery. Miss Fonda, a two-time winner, is no stranger to plastic surgery herself. She had breast implants while married to her first husband Vadim. She only had them removed 16 years ago, saying they made her feel " unwomanly " . And she also recently admitted to " a little surgery, other than the implants " which is believed to have involved removing the fat under her eyes. The daughter of Henry Fonda, the thrice-married actress is well-known for her forthright campaigning views. Back in the Sixties, during the Vietnam war, she became known as Hanoi Jane when she provoked outrage for posing with North Vietnamese soldiers. She is not the first Hollywood star to speak out against the popularity of plastic surgery. Bacall, 81, recently said she was astounded by the way people were trying to change the way they look. She said: " I have friends who are beautiful women, and they are having liposuction and boob lifts, and I say, 'What are you doing to yourselves? Stop it!' " " I disdain this whole youth sickness thing. " And Redford, 69, said actors and celebrities have developed a " sick obsession with plastic surgery " . Redford said that those who chose to undergo it were " vain and insecure " . Miss Fonda also reveals in the Parkinson interview that having come out of a 15-year retirement to appear in last year's film Monster-In-Law with , she was hoping to do more acting. " I didn't want to do it any more because I just wasn't happy and so it scared me and so I quit for 15 years, " she said. " Then I got an offer in a movie, it was a silly movie but I had such a good time that I'm going to do more. "
