Guest guest
Good Morning , I don't know if my previous post is going to show up, but I wanted to share again this link with you regarding fasting. It is from Dr. Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade for Christ, and an experienced fasting man of God himself. http://www.billbright.com/howtofast/index.html This will give you some good guidelines to follow. My recommendation is not to consume any foods or supplements during a water only fast. The reason is that you want your digestive system to be able to take a complete break so your body can focus on cleansing completely. Organs will become better functioning as they rest, and your body will be able to do some deeper tissue cleansing. Supplements will prevent that. If you want to do a cleanse for the colon, there are specific programs that include fasting and certain supplement for that, such as psyllium seed husks. There are guidelines to follow for starting a fast (eat lightly for several days prior and don't eat highly processed foods, but focus on raw fruits and veggies). There are definitely guidelines to follow for also breaking a fast, which is the most important aspect of a correct fast. Break it slowly and start off with high water content fruits or vegetables, such as watermelon or oranges, or steamed zucchini or vegetable broths with cooked veggies. Eat light portions. Eat sparingly, and slowly build up to full meals over a day or two, depending on how long you fasted. I hope this helps. I am really glad to hear you've been inspired to try a fast for both physical and spiritual reasons. I will be doing another one again soon, so I hope that will help inspire you too, but most of all, I pray that you will feel totally blessed as you follow God's leading.
