Guest guest
Wow allyson I really feel for you. I can understand how you feel. I really can. There was a woman here some time ago that had tubular breasts and I can't remember what she decided to do. Isn't there anything less expensive that they can do surgery wise? Have you consulted any other surgeons about the possibilities? Ultimately only you can decide what to do. THere is no way to tell if you will get sick again with the implants in now that you are doing better, or if you would stay better with the implants out. Most likely they are involved in some way in messing up your immune system which is what grave's disease is--an autoimmune condition affecting the thyroid. My husband had graves disease as well as his father. They also had alot of lupus in the family. AFter researching graves disease and thyroid illness, I learned that people who have thyroid illness have families that have higher incidences of other autooimmune diseases such as lupus, ms, arthritis, diabetes, etc. So, you are definitely right that you should be very careful to protect your body by eating a good diet-- also by exercising, using supplements, and detoxing. Whatever you decide we will try to be of help and support. Hugs, kathy > > Hello ladies, > I have posted on here several times. I am considering an explant with > Dr. Kolb. I saw her in Dec. Guest guest
Allyson, Some of the ladies have been slow to respond, but as far as I know, everyone who has been with the group for a while, and has been explanted is doing noticably better now. I wish there was some way to help you with your fear of what you will look like . . . I can only say that God doesn't make mistakes. We're all different. The key is accepting and loving ourselves as we are. There are far worse deformaties than tubular breasts. You can see, hear, feel, walk and eat on your own! . . . Please think of all the blessings you already have! . .. . If you aren't conscious of your breasts, nobody else will be either! Guest guest
Allyson, I had severe asymmetry, and a tubular deformity. I had double lumen implants for 20 years, before i had them removed. The good news is that the implants and the reconstructive surgery with explant changed the shape of my breast. I no longer have a tubular shape - without implants. I do have asymmetry, but that is because I chose not to have them made even because I had gained weight. ;=( One day if I ever lose weight, I may do something about that. But first things first. Guest guest
Hi Allyson: I can understand your being worried about how you will look after explant. I don't know much about tubular breasts, but would a lift help? Many of the women here say their breasts look as good or better after explant than before they had their implants. Some, like myself, are flatter than before, but compensate with padded bras or bra inserts. I think the reason I lost tissue is because I've had multiple surgeries and had silicone implants prior to the salines. Dr. Kolb and her staff are great. She didn't do my explant but I met with her recently to get treated for my remaining mold symptoms. It was so nice to finally talk with a doctor who admits to implants causing health problems and also knows how to treat them. If you decide to have her do your explant, you can be confident she'll do a thorough job getting everything out. My advice to anyone having any kind of immune disease symptoms is to get the implants out. I've been on this list for a year and a half and I don't recall anyone regretting the decision. Your health is much more important. Kate allysonallysonkrick <adkrick@...> wrote: Hello ladies,I have posted on here several times. I am considering an explant with Dr. Kolb. I saw her in Dec. However I am very scared about how my breast will look like. I got implant to correct my small tubular breast. I am so worried that I have even considered not explanting. I was diagnosed last year with grave's hyperthyriodism and have been doing alot of research since then. I am getting much better since I've been a endo. and natrual dr. I may even get off my meds from the endo. I know that the smart thing to do is to remove any triggors. I even wonder at this point if it is or even was a triggor. I was under a lot of stress when I got Graves. Not to mention, I had just stopped taking my anexiety meds. I guess I just question if the implants really even had or have any factor at this point. Over a year later with less stress in my life, watching my diet closer, taking herbs from my ND, my thyroid is in the normal range. I know I will always have to whats my stress level and diet even after I remove the implant ( if I do). Has anyone here have tubular brests? They are not only small but very deformed looking. I don't know if i can deal with that. I know it's silly because I should worry about my health first, and I do, but I would be lying if I said that I would be able to get over my looks and be happy. It's very sad I know. I even talked to Dr. Kolb about a transflap surgery, and she said that would fix my breats, but it's like $70,000, and of course that is way too much money for me. Has anyone here had their implants removed to find that all their pathology reports and test were normal? I guess there is just no way knowing anything for sure. I know that some women from here have gotten better after they removed their implant, but it is also hard to say that maybe they got better due to lifestyle and diet changes. Some women have definaltely gotten better due to the fact they removed them and others removed them and still are not better. Guest guest
Hi Allyson, I had slight tubular breast also but it was completely corrected by Dr. Feng. I love my new smaller breasts.... they look better than they had pre implant. I'm so glad to have those things OUT. It's been a year for me and I must say it really was the best decision I could have ever made. I have thyroid issues also and may be stuck with it long term but it's completely manageable now.
