Gosh, I feel so out of the loop and I feel like I don't know anybody on this

board. I didn't think it had been that long..

I guess things change quickly. Well, just popped in to say hello and I'm still

here, but everybody knows the things going on for me these days. Yep, I still

have those issues to deal with too.

Welcome Roxana from darkest Peru!

I'm going to start going through the messages now...

Hi and Welcome! You are posting to the group just fine, and I am really sorry to hear of the trouble you've been having with your health. You know better than anyone if your symptoms are consistent with all of those we've listed as having been experienced by other women who have gotten sick after getting implants. It's always a shock to realize that the implants that the doctors claim are totally safe actually can make you very sick. It's hard to believe they don't acknowledge this, with all of the women that have not only gotten sick, but have written about it, been on TV about it, on radio, stories in magazines, books, newspapers, and on the internet....the long line of women sick from implants keeps growing and growing, yet we are tragically very IGNORED. That's why our group is here, because we know women are not told the truth, they are scared and need assistance through these difficult months of

discovery and explant and healing. Help is found in so few places. The good news is that, yes, these symptoms do go away after explant! It is not a guarantee, but there is good reason to remain hopeful and encouraged, because we have many women who have gone on to live healthy, normal lives after a period of healing and restoration. It can take several years, but it does happen. There may be some residual health issues that flare every once in awhile, but there is a good chance that with proper diet and lifestyle, you can overcome these symptoms and help them go into remission. One of the most important aspects of healing is getting a PROPER explant! Most doctors will just take the easy road and pop those implants out. Not good. They must also do what is called a "total capsulectomy", which is the term used for removal of the entire scar capsule that develops around

every implant. This capsule can contain silicone degradation products, bacterial colonies or other pathogens that can keep your immune system activated and preventing full healing. We've had way too many women not getting a proper explant and it causes lots of heartache down the road when they realize they are still having trouble and have to go through ANOTHER surgery. Avoid this scenario. Have it done right the first time. We are here to help....ask questions...look through our files, and be sure to find a doctor who is knowledgeable about doing an explant that is correct...ask him/her about that total capsulectomy and drains and make sure they are willing to do what YOU ASK. You have hired them, and they should be at your service. Dearest :

Thank you for coming to this wonderful group of women. Saline breast implants are not safe, and we are all happy that you will be having them removed. Nausea was one of my first symptoms, and the panic attacks turned out to be Asthma. Please ask questions, and we will try to help you to get through this. It is heartbreaking to know that you are sick too.

Stay close, sending love and support...Lea

How long have you had your implants? I have had mine for about a

year and a half. I can not be sure they are causing my symptoms but

it sure is coincidental that I found your group through entering my

symptoms in Google. Everyone around me thinks that that i am giving

myself these anxiety attacks because I have this in my head now.

They keep saying that it is my past catching up to me becuase i am

not an emotinal person. Its so hard to tell because my symptoms

match chronic anxiety symptoms as well except i have never been one

to worry about anything. That I know of. I guess my question is so i

can relax a little, how quickly they can make you sick. I am scared

to see what more damage they will cause if I have to wait till the

end of Sept and when i do have them out, will everything go back to

normal. Do you still suffer from your attacks and nausea or have you

found something to combat that. I am so happy for you that you will

be explanted in only a few more weeks! How did you go about

selecting the right doctor? Apparently there is more to it then just

taking them out?

, The important thing to remember about getting your implants out is that your healing can take a very long time, in fact, much longer than you have even had the implants. I had my implants for only 9 months, but it took me 4 years to get better. Not everyone is the same and some women heal faster, but the point I am trying to make is that taking the implants out is not like pulling a bad tooth. Things just don't get better immediately. Sometimes an autoimmune process has begun when you get sick from implants...that process needs time to undo itself. Those little soldiers running around in your body (your immune system) have been programmed differently when autoimmunity kicks in, and they need to be de-programmed. It doesn't happen quickly. If often takes months. Detoxing will be important, as will a healthy lifestyle. Stay with us, don't panic, but do take

the necessary steps to get better and be patient for healing to happen. Alot of people are in denial about how much damage implants can do, but I can tell you that getting my implants removed was the best thing I ever did to regain m my health. Patti,

Thanks for the info. I am trying to find a doctor in my area that i

know will take the proper precautions to make sure this is done

right the first time. Im guessing since the original guy who put

them in does not think there is any problem with them he would be

one to just take them out and close me up. How do you know when you

immune has been effected. I have had blood, thyroid and many other

tests come back all normal? I cant believe i actually got sucked

into this whole implant thing!.

Thank You,

I never had anxiety attacks in my entire life and then bam, in December 06 they hit. I had no idea it was the implants. I tried anti-axiety pills, which gave me little relief but I think there is an underlying cause to everything and the doctors couldn't tell me what that cause was. Well since explant, my anxiety attacks are GONE!

My family and husband also thought I was making a rash decision. They thought that there was no possible way implants would be legal if they made people. AND...isn't there bloodwork that can show illness - - etc. etc.

In the end, you'll need to listed to your instints and your body. I had mine for almost 8 years and I regret leaving them in for that long.

You'll make your own decision. I would continue to research but there are not too many doctors who are going to admit to implant illness.

You are correct, I would not go back to you implant doctor! I had an ANA panel run which showed auto-immune issues. You may not have them yet. Many of my symptoms mock diseases such as Rheumatoid Arthritis or Lupus. I have joint inflammation and muscle weakness. This along with anxiety & depression are what made me make an appointment. I have seen rheumatologist, endocrinologist and many other doctors. I just turned 35 and when I was really sick I felt like I was 80.

I also had nausea, and panic attacks. I never had panic attacks

until I got implants, and then I was having them all the time. I

had joint swelling, I slept about 3 hours per night, my fingers and

toes were numb, my neck hurt, I had blurred vision, headaches,

sudden high blood pressure when I was always low, brain fog,

fatigue, strange pains in my arms and legs that I never had before.

I was so glad to get the implants out. I felt like a ticking time

bomb with them in. Most of the time I feel pretty good since

getting explanted, but sometimes I have flareups when I get

stressed, don't get enough sleep or eat as healthy as I should, or

am exposed to chemicals such as cleaning products.

Hi Sis,

Was it hard for you to find a doctor in your area to preform the

explant correctly? Im glad to hear that your pain, for the most part,

has subsided. Is this an expensive procedure, not that it matters at

this point! I just want them out.

Hi ,

While there are tons of plastic surgeons in New Jersey and the

surrounding area, I found it difficult to find a plastic surgeon

that I trusted enough to remove the implants properly. I figured I

was only going to have this surgery once, and I never wanted to

second guess whether the doctor did everything they could to get all

of the capsule out, remove the implants whole rather than draining

them first, and who would use drains after the surgery. I figured a

week in Ohio was well worth having that peace of mind. I wanted a

doctor who acknowledged implant illness to remove my implants, and I

was willing to pay more in order to do that. It is an expensive

procedure (one that the plastic surgeons somehow fail to tell you

about prior to actually getting implants), but it was well worth the

money to have my body back.

, Sorry I haven't gotten back to you sooner, I have not been well. I wasn' t sure it was the implants making me sick until I started doing more research and meeting more women on line with the same symtoms as me. A week ago I went to a Rhuematologist concerning all the pain I'm in. They refused to see me because I have implants. This told me they know how dangerous the implants are and that I'm making the right decision to have them removed as soon as possible. I mean, if I'm being denied medicial attention because I have implants there's something VERY WRONG! I have seen several surgeons about explant but the one I chose I trust. I looked on our list to see if there was a surgeon in my area. There was. When I went to see Dr. Caffee he was no longer the head surgeon so I saw his replacement Dr. Seagle. Dr. Seagle did not think the implants were making

me sick, but he did believe that I believed they were making me sick. I did a great deal of research before going to see Dr. Seagle because the surgeons I had spoken to before him were JACKASSES and treated me like I was stupid. All of the information you need to know is in our files. I printed out as much as I could and took it with me to the doctors office. I went in and told Dr. Seagle what I wanted done and why. I felt strong and impowered by my knowledge of enbloc with total capsulectomy. If you don't know what this means, find out. My surgery is in 22 days and I can't wait to have small boobies. My breast will be smaller after explant than they were to begin with because they removed so much of my breast to lift them. They were long and flat from years of breastfeeding. I've only known about my implants making me sick for close to 3 months now. At first I thought it may not be the

implants, but I now think I was in denial because I didn't want to lose them. This is very hard. To know I have to choose life and health over my breast has been hard. I just want to get better. I'm sick all the time. Nov.29th 2004 I was implanted and I'v been sick ever since and getting sicker all the time. I have been in and out of the hospital and on at least 100 different medications maybe even more. If you have anymore questions I will try to help you the best I can. You will find lots of help and support here in this group. I would not know what I know now if it weren't for all of the beautiful women in this group. They have all saved my life. have you had your implants? I have had mine for about a year and a half. I can not be sure they are causing my symptoms but it sure is coincidental that I found your group through entering my symptoms in Google. Everyone around me thinks that that i am giving myself these anxiety attacks because I have this in my head now. They keep saying that it is my past catching up to me becuase i am not an emotinal person. Its so hard to tell because my symptoms match chronic anxiety symptoms as well except i have never been one to worry about anything. That I know of. I guess my question is so i can relax a little, how quickly they can make you sick. I am scared to see what more damage they will cause if I have to wait till the end of Sept and when i do have them out, will everything go back to normal. Do you still suffer from your attacks and nausea or have you found something to combat that. I am so happy for you that you will

be explanted in only a few more weeks! How did you go about selecting the right doctor? Apparently there is more to it then just taking them out?> I'm not sure if I am posting this to the right newsgroup so please bear > with me until I figure this out.
