I had extreme nerve pain before explant. I suffered it for years, I just thought it was something I had to endure for beauty. The sharp nerve pain isn't as great for me post implant, but when it does come occasionally, it is just as painful. I am assuming I am either still healing deep inside where the implants were, or it is "phantom pains". I am leaning towards the still healing. My healing has been compromised in the last year. Searing, burning, "nerve"like pain with most any kind of normal daily activity(ie. mild stretching, bending down, pushing in a drawer). Even the water from the shower during these

times of pain is unbearable. If I just sit and do nothing, the breasts feel fine. I am unable to wear a sports bra because of the pain from the compression is bad. A shelf bra inside a loose tank top is OK.I consulted with Dr. Kolb and told her my surgeon was DR Melmed and she said she's tired of cleaning up his messes( remaining scar capsule).Dr M. said he couldn't get it all out. She said she wouldn't take any of his patient!!!She thinks it may be caosule and /or scarring of 4th intercostal nerve.I've been unable to find any plastic surgeon that knows anything here in Seattle. Is Dr Kolb the only Dr that knows how to deal with this problem????I need a recommendation for another Dr. to consult with.I can't be the only one who has suffered with this. If you're out there, ladies please let me know who you went to and what they had to do.I can't work what with this breast/chest wall pain and

all the other symptoms I have throughout my body. I am disabled at this point.I sure could use some advice. Thanks for all the support.

, I am so sorry to hear you are dealing with this. Left over scar tissue can be a problem and that is why we caution women to make sure they discuss total capsulectomy with their doctor, and come to an agreement that every effort needs to be made to get it all. I've known women that are in your same boat, unfortunately. Dr. Feng in Ohio removed the leftover scar tissue in one girl that I know, and Dr. Huang in Denver removed another girls posterior scar capsule that her surgeron had left. It does happen, and it is terrible to have to go through a second surgery. But when you are dealing with continuing health issues, sometimes that is what is needed. There can be no compromises. Having said that, I did want to mention that I had some shooting pains in my breasts after explant too, and that all went away in time. All I can suggest is to call these doctors and see what they say. I know Dr. Kolb has had to fix problems that other Drs. have left behind, so it seems odd that she won't help you out. Let us know what you are able to arrange. Pattyladybuglindee <ladybuglindee@...> wrote: I'm 2 months post explant and the problem has been going on since 3 wks after explant.
