Guest guest
, I am 7 weeks post explant and I still have a little pain under my arm also. I also have pain in my ribs and the incision area. I do know that in my surgical report Dr. Feng had to do alot of scraping to get all the scar tissue out. I am assuming my pain has alot to do with that, so I am choosing to allow my body time to heal. If you are worried about your pain, call your explanting surgeon' s office. I am sure they can help you gain am better understanding to what may be causing your pain. Good Luck, Ltypesxxxy <typesxxxy@...> wrote: Hi Ladies!! I am now 10 weeks post-op and looking better and better each day. However I have become a little concerned, about 2 weeks ago my right underarm was pretty sore, I went to the OBGYN for my annual and told her I had my implants removed, she said the tissue felt very healthy, things looked good. I did not tell her that my right underarm was bothering me, I just simply disregarded the pain. Now here I am 2 weeks later and my right underarm is bothering me again. I am a complete worry wart and I have done some online searching and everything comes back with breast cancer information and that scares me to death!! I have been lifting weights for a while now and I am not sure if maybe it is somehow a strain to my underarm?? Any advice you ladies could offer would be greatly appreciated!- Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
, Rather than weights, look into Thera-Bands . . . They come in at least four strengths and are adaptable to a wide range of exercises. . . You can work muscles with them that weights can't address. I've had problems with neck/shoulders and arms ever since getting implants in 1978 . . . Many therapy sessions. I have to continue working on upper body strenght - probably forever. Guest guest
Hi Rogene! Thanks for that bit of info, I will have to try those. Do you know where I can get something like that? I still just don't know if lifting weights could be causing this? The pain is in the right crease of my underarm, it is just a weird feeling. It hurts to put pressure on that area. I noticed it when I took a shower this morning.Rogene S <saxony01@...> wrote: ,Rather than weights, look into Thera-Bands . . . Guest guest
, You'll get the most information if you'll do a web search for " Therabands " . . . They're widely. Look for some instructions for excercises too. If I had a fax machine, I could send you some. Hugs, Rogene
Guest guest
Hi , As you are already aware, the lymph nodes play an extremely important part in your health. Truly, I commend you for doing research and trying to help yourself! (insert applause here). A few years ago, I read something about how underarm lymph nodes can become "clogged"...At the time, it was thought that underwire bras were keeping the nodes from doing their job at which time they would become swollen and painful. Doctors were telling their patients to do an underarm massage every night before going to bed if you wore an underwire bra all. Apparently this massage helped promote the circulation in the area? As it was, researchers then discovered that there was an increased risk of breast Ca in women that wore underwire bras. I don't remember anybody doing any follow up research on that and I know there are many young ladies in this group. But there may be others who have been around (ahem) long enough to recall what I'm talking about. Thats all. Just thought I'd throw my two cents in and certainly an underarm massage every night couldn't hurt once the nodes are no longer swollen.... Christene >> Hi Ladies!!
