Guest guest
Hi Kathy! Glad you are in prayer and fasting with us! I'm finally done with taxes...ugh...and will be picking up the final revision from my accountant in a few minutes. I hope you feel ready to tackle yours. I know how burdensome it feels. I am always faced with this issue of trying to get work done and also fit in a time of prayer daily. In fact, I have struggled with this much. God finally showed me several things, including the parable of the two sons in 21: 28. I was saying Yes to God, but not doing His will. I MUST place a priority on the time spent in prayer, but it can be after everyone has left the house and I am alone. It must be early in the day. Recognize those things that draw me away from spending time in prayer and realize that for me, when they take precedence over God, they have become " sin " or " idols " or that which takes the place of God. I must take steps to place God back in His proper place first and that means telling myself " NO, not now " . (It's the computer for me. I can spend waaaay too much time on the computer.) I trust God to get me through the day and accomplish all that needs to be accomplished once I've spent time with Him first. I ask for His help in that area. I can't tell you the number of times problems were fixed quickly or suddenly and I said aloud, " Thank you God! " While I am in my office, I have on either Christian radio or music and will even spend time in worship as I work. If a song comes on that is particularly touching, I put down my pen and papers and just be still for a moment to dwell on it, and offer prayers as they come to mind. And I stay out of the kitchen! Kathy, have a blessed day! Love, Patty > > I am also fasting today with Patty and . Trying to stay in > prayer but I also have to get going on my taxes! Guest guest
Thanks for the input on prayer Patty. Thank you for joining in fasting with us Kathy, I hope you are doing well. My kids just got home and now is when the temptation really comes. The first thing they do is open the refrigerator and snack. Sometimes they cook things and can smell pretty good. I am getting ready to take my 11 year old out for her bithday. I have decided to take her to Target to do special mom/daughter shopping. This way we are not around food. I have told her to eat before we go. Tonight on ABC in our area, not sure in yours, is a special called The Ten Commandments. I am looking forward to watching that. Again, thanks for all your support during my first fasting experierence. Lglory2glory1401 <glory2glory1401@...> wrote: Hi Kathy!Glad you are in prayer and fasting with us! Guest guest
--- Prayer is GOOD!! Thanks, Patty. I have changed my diet Or as I like to call it, LIVE-it considerably over the past few months. I am very toxic with 20 yr. implants and am hoping for surgery this year! Please put in a word for me with Our Great Guy Up There!
