Guest guest
Dear Ladies, Well it's official. I have scheduled my explant surgery for May 3rd with Dr. Kolb. My MSH test came back last week at 21. So Dr. Kolb feels that I have a leak or a rupture that is causing mold/fungus to grow in me. One thing I know for sure is that something happened starting back in December when I started getting REALLY sick. More than my chemical sensitivities, chronic fatigue syndrome or fibromyalgia. In fact over the last few days my arms have really been hurting. So taking all of the above into consideration my dear husband and I decided that I need to get these implants out quick. In 9 months to a year I plan on going back to Dr. Kolb for reconstruction using my own tissue. I would have never dreamed I would be where I am today just a few months ago. But thanks to Michele who educated me, has loved me and listened to me many times on the phone crying plus Rogene's assurance and the education I am learning from this group I know I am making the right decision. I am scared, but I know the Lord Jesus will help me through this difficult time. Michele spoke out to me on The Maker's Diet Website about the possibility of my implants making me so sick. My goal is to help others like she has helped me. I'm also worried about being completely flat chested as I am a breast cancer surivor yet I'm almost to the point where I am okay with it just to feel better. It's been 17 years since I bought a real bra so it will be an adventure to pick them out and put falsies in them!!!! I hadn't posted in a while and just wanted to let you know the news. Blessings to you all! Penni
Guest guest
Hi Penni, You sure got hold of the right ladies! Dr. Kolb removed my implants and I am so eternally grateful to her for the great job she did. I was very sick two years ago, before my implants were removed. Only recently did I have another lab test done - my ANA is NEGATIVE for the first time in over 6 years! Many of my symptoms have either gone away or are much better. I still struggle with fatigue (and insomnia still) but I am so much better. I am not sure who is, but I do know Rogene. She is the best!! DId you have silicone implants? You had them for 17 years, I thought you might have. > > Dear Ladies, > > Well it's official. I have scheduled my explant surgery for May 3rd with Dr. Kolb. My MSH test came back last week at 21. Guest guest
Penni, I'm so glad to hear you've made the explant decision! .. . . You have so much to gain! Please take very good care of yourself in the meantime .. . . lots of water, probiotics, rest, etc. The better condition you're in going into surgery the better off you will be. Has Dr. Kolb started you on an anti-fungal diet? Hugs and prayers, Rogene

Guest guest
Molly, I had double lumen implants from 1989 until 2003. In 2003 I had them replaced with saline implants. I didn't know that you could be really sick from implants. I had the silicone sensitivity test done twice and both times it came back negative so I just figured that they were not causing all of my health problems. Hundreds of thousands of dollars later I find out different. I've been to so many doctors that we are financially drained and living on our second mortgage. I can't wait to feel better and your message gives me such hope. I know you have corresponded with Michele as she mentioned you on the phone yesterday. She is brilliant and sends many posts about alternative cleaning products, websites etc. I was sort of timid at first when coming to this board so I only wrote to Rogene. She has been so helpful to me even in the midst of her own battle. She is so knowledgeable and has sent so many articles that have helped me make my decision. Thank you again for your encouragement. Blessings, Penni Re: Upcoming Surgery Hi Penni,You sure got hold of the right ladies! Dr. Kolb removed my implants and I am so eternally grateful to her for the great job she did. Guest guest
Penni . . . I'm sure that, when you told Dr. Kolb you were following The Maker's Diet, she knew you wouldn't have a systemic yeast problem . . . The Maker's Diet is all about building and maintaining a healthy digestive system! . . . You're going to do great! . . . Good doctor, good diet and good attitude . . . Actually they're all GREAT! Guest guest
--- Penni, I SOOOO happy for you. A little envious, am I. I am working on getting a surgery date. I have had my implants for 20 yrs. and they are literally killing me. I feel so toxic and am wondering if I will ever recover! God is good, though and it's His love and acceptance and comfort that has kept me going, as well as the ladies on this site, and my supportive family. My grandkids keep me moving physically!! You mentioned you are having reconstructive surgery at a later date. Is it possible to have it at the time of explant or not? I'm totally green when it comes to the how's of surgery. Guest guest
Kathy, Thank you for your encouraging words. I read a copy of the operating room report from 2003 when I had my old implants replaced. The doctor noted that I had a right gel bleed. I was so upset when I read this as he never told me. I guess he thought it wasn't important yet he knew I had been sick for 7 years at the time. I'm so angry at him and really dragged myself into a hole yesterday from it. So now I'm going to put that aside for now and prepare myself for my upcoming surgery. Blessings, Penni Re: Upcoming Surgery PenniCongratulations on scheduling your explant. Guest guest
Penni I am so sorry. I would be very angry also. It makes you wonder if he just doesn't connect the gel bleed with your being sick, or he deliberately kept if from you because he did know. Either way, that sure solidifies that your implants are making you ill. I am glad that you are putting that out of your mind and concentrating on your upcoming explant. Negative emotions make us sicker and positive ones are healing! It sounds like you already know that! You are in my prayers for a very successful explant.
