Guest guest
Hi Thank you!!! The parents that use this program all seem to be so happy with it--I haven't heard from anyone yet who doesn't recommend it. And everyone says it helped them in so many ways---I can't wait to get more info! It is wonderful that your son has come so far!! I would love to be able to say my son talks too much! haha! You must just be so happy with all you have done. And you have done great!!!! son rise hello,i am a son-rise mom, and would like to give you a thumbs up on looking into this program more.i first ventured to the option institute in 1997, when my son, john, was three. i have been back several times for training, i have taken my son back for an intensive and implemented a son-rise program in my home for about four years.hands down, it has been the foundation of everything i have done with my son in the years since. the attitude, and the way that the children are treated in this program are key, and you can take what you learn and apply it to anything that you continue with your child. i will say i have never observed anything that equals the manner in which the child is treated in this program, (respect, love, and acceptance and believing that anything is possible). for myself, i continue to find there are times that i need to revisit what i learned at option to continue to move forward on my journey with my son, john. the number one thing i learned for myself was empowerment to be able to help my son. when i started with john, in 1997, i was told join a support group, that i would have to teach my son to "pull his pants" up (I still don't understand why the doc told me that one), that there was nothing i could do for him, and do "quit chasing rainbows. everything i wanted to try with him, AIT, diet, biological interventions was treated with a attitude of "well, what do you want to do that for?". Learning Son-rise gave me alot of strength in a time when there wasn't alot of acceptance that there was hope for my child.what the program did for my son? well, i think we are still reaping the results of that. was non-verbal, and now speaks too much. he has a great sense of humor, and a HUGE imagination. good luck, and thank you to all the parents on this list. i am so glad to have joined and find the information that is being shared here invaluable.chrisjohn's mom
Guest guest
I second everything that had said below.. My husband and I visited son-rise in 2003 when my son was about 2 1/2. The general attitude and foundation for all that I choose to do with Nick comes from son-rise. We truly enjoyed my time there and have never regretted one moment. Nick began to reap the benefits of son-rise after my first phone converstation with one of the son-rise specialists and she gave me some ideas to try at home before we were scheduled to come out. I am a firm believer in treating my son's Autism both biomedically and behaviorally. He's make remarkable strides and we were both interviewed on Channel 6 Action News in September regarding his progess. At the time we started son-rise, I wasn't even sure he knew we were his parents. Now, he tells us he loves us so much everyday.. reads at a 4th grade level.. draws like a trained artist (no kidding.. this kid taught himslef forced perspective..).. he's converses.. and is very loveable. Most importantly, he's so much healthier. He now eats a variety of foods whereas before he would gag at the mere sight of anything other than a soft pretzel. Son-rise along with some key biomedical interventions have made an enormous impact on my son's growth and healing. hope this helps..
