Guest guest
Note . . . you must enter the Brand Name of the implant to get the information! . . . Please bookmark this address! - Rogene =========================================== > I clicked on this link and typed in breast implants in the BRAND NAME box and make sure you change the dates in the little calendar boxes or you will only get a few. I went back to the '92 year and then I looked at the '95 year and just look at the hundreds of breast and penile implants that were removed and look at the part that states if there was an injury or not...everyone states that an injury occurred. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From: <mailto:cynthia.benson@... Assistance Subject: FW: 04-358 cmh ruptured breast implants Your interest in contacting the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) through your April 16 e-mail is appreciated. However, contrary to most of your message, the FDA has indeed had a system in place for years where adverse events about medical products can be reported. So, although I can greatly empathize with the tribulations you have endured, you should be aware of our MAUDE database available at <http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cdrh/cfdocs/cfMAUDE/search.cfm?search options=1 http://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cdrh/cfdocs/cfMAUDE/search.cfm?searcho ptions=1 . Here you can read all the adverse events that have been reported through the MedWatch program about the various types of breast implants over the years. If you type " breast implants " into the " Brand Name " blank and then press the search button, a great quantity of records will appear for your review. There is even a feature allowing you to check for specific time periods. If you would like to file a MedWatch report about your own experience, I encourage you to go to <http://www.fda.gov/medwatch/index.html http://www.fda.gov/medwatch/index.html and complete the online form or you may prefer to call the MedWatch toll free number of 1-800-FDA-1088. There is also a wealth of information dedicated to breast implants on our FDA website of <http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/breastimplants www.fda.gov/cdrh/breastimplants, including a listing of various consumer advocacy groups. Databases and websites, as appear above, contain information accessible to all and is a primary vehicle for the FDA to share information, both positive and negative. You can see that the FDA continues to be dedicated to its mission of protecting and promoting public health.
