Hi Rogene,

I went to see my surgeon yesterday for my pre-op. I have to say that I am now somewhat encouraged by him.

I was able to have an interpreter which was a big help.

I also took my Sister with me to remind me of things to ask which I knew I would forget!!

I have much work to do before the operation which is still scheduled for 24th April. Monday, I have to have blood test, Xray and ECG for the operation. Tuesday, I have an appointment with the Skin specialist and Wednesday, the Bone specialist. These last two appointments the surgeon said is to get a report linking my conditions to silicone for the insurance company.

Meanwhile, the surgeon has written a letter for me for the insurance company. I haven't yet translated it but can work out what most of it says and I think its quite good. He has even said that since the implants I have had health problems and listed many and is recommending explant.

One thing I think he has done in my favour, he hasn't stated that he IS doing a capsular removal, just the there may be a possibility that he has to even though he has assured me that he is.

Also, he is going to do an uplift at the same time and he hasn't put this on the letter either!! I think he is trying to help me as I told him I couldn't afford an uplift and I didn't think the insurance company would pay. He just kind of smiled and winked at me.

He also agreed to give me the implants once explanted.

I asked him if I would have drains and he said yes.

Oh, one more thing, he said the operation would be at least 3 hours and he is keeping me in hospital overnight to keep an eye on me. (Perhaps he wants to marry me too hehe) just trying to stay light hearted about this, but really I am scared. Mind you, he did take lots of photos!!!

Am going to fax this letter to the insurance company on Monday as all is closed until then for Easter. They may even agree to the operation without having to see the specialists, who knows.

Rogene. The last time we wrote you thought you had sorted things with the Magnesium and were feeling much better, hope that is still the case.

By the way, I received my NCD and have felt much better again.

I also got some sea salt body scrub from and its fantastic.

The first three time I sued it, my arms were on fire and I felt like I was receiving electric shocks through them, I had to grit my teeth to say out of the water. Its much easier now but funny it was only my arms again, that tells me something!! Anyhow, its made such a difference to my skin, it is so much softer, doesnt feel like elephants skin anymorethough I have got more eruptions than before but I think its just the silicone escaping. I told the surgeon that and I thought he would really think I had gone mad!! but he just sort of nodded.

Can I also just add, A BIG THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF HEART to everyone on this site. Without this site, I would not be feeling like I am now. Its not just how I feel but what I have learnt. I cannot put it into words and thank you is not enough. ALL OF YOU.

Oh, one more thing. We have a soap in the UK called Eastenders. They have done a story line where a girl has had a boob job. My sister is an avid watcher. She is going to write to the BBC Director and tell him about implants and the risks and ask him if he would like to incorporate my story into his story line. It would be a great way to get the message over to the public, a great storyline for the BBC. We are going to tell him about this support group too. He might want to do his own research. Worth a try and if we pull it off, WELL, it will open up a hornets nest I suppose. Still, the BBC loves publicity and a challenge. HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A HAPPY EASTER,

Love
