Guest guest
The Part about Water must be true for some people at least part of the time, most of it is from a book, " Your Bodies Many Cries for Water " . The neat thing is that it costs so little to try it out, the writer left out an important warning, one should take a little extra salt with the added water: IF they are not already taking too much salt from processed foods. And it should be a natural type salt. One good way is to bottle up the correct amount of water and see if you have emptied the bottle by bedtime. Sharon is right, a lot of the stuff about Coke is a stretch of the truth. The comments about Phosphoric acid are misleading, it is the isolated acid that has a such low PH Value, not a bottle of Coke. Drinking a solution of acid with a PH of 2.8 could kill! Most of the uses mentioned for Coke do not work well! I have tried the oil and the nail test, not very effective. Put a baking soda solution on your battery, that will clean it. My complaint about Coke is that it contains TEN Teaspoons of sugar! Best Regards, Lorenzo NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - More potent anti-cholesterol therapy with the drug Lipitor [made by Pfizer] is better than standard therapy with Pravachol (pravastatin) at slowing plaque build-up in the arteries that feed the heart, new research shows. ---#--This is news from Reuters, Guess who is the CEO of Reuters and of Pfizer, That's right same guy! Water or Coke? A friend sent me this email. I don't know how true all the statements are but it's certainly food for thought - especially the Coke bit! WATER 1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated. 2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger. 3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%. 4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study. 5. Lack of water, the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue. 6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers. 7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page. 8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50%less likely to develop bladder cancer. Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day? COKE 1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident. 2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days. 3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the " real thing " sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china. 4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola. 5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion. 6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes. 7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy. 8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield. FOR YOUR INFORMATION: 1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about four days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis. 2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous Material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials. 3. The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!
Guest guest
I'm so pleased that both my children have stopped drinking Coke! I consider it poison and have been drumming it into them for years. Guest guest
I know from personal experience that most, if not all, of the things about Coke are true. I quit drinking it when the guys told how they used it te clean the battery terminals in their cars. It works very well in the toilet bowl, too. I am a reformed coke addict :-) I grew up drinking gallons and gallons of the stuff and no meal would be complete without a big glassful. That must have accounted for all the sugar in my system. For the past couple of years, I have avoided all sodas whenever possile, even diet drinks. Heck, even sports drinks, like Gatorade, which are full of sugar. After meals or after exercise, water is the way to go. There are some places however where even bottled water is unavailable! Arrgh. That would be the only time I would capitulate with a small glass of diet coke and it is never a pleasant experience any more. Funny how you can change your tastes overnight if you have to. I do remember the first time I cut out Coke I would lose over a pound a week due to the calorie deficit.

That is just too much sugar chugging down their throats. Drinking just one sugared pop a day (that contains 16 teaspoons of sugar--can't remember which one it is?) adds up to 54 pounds of sugar ingested in one year in just pop alone. Most kids these days drink more than one a day unfortantly.... On the Coke, Mythbusters did some studies on the things they say Coke will do--most of them were true. Not the steak though, it was still whole but very tenderized. And it did not dissolve the tooth, and neither did the straight phosphoric acid. It was pretty powerful stuff. I'm wondering if your immune system was compromised in any way by the Coke-drinking years?
