Guest guest
Sis, To my knowledge, there aren't any bills that would affect breast implants . . . What we are looking for is pressure on the FDA NOT to approve Mentor and Inamed's petitions for approval of the gel implants that the hearing last April were held for. The FDA appears to be bought and paid for . . . However, we have a slow but steadily growing group of congressmen/women willing to speak up for us. The platinum issue is the first one where we can link a specific chemical in breast implants to the illness women and children experience. The only source of ionized platinum for these people is breast implants. The scientists already know the dangers of ionized platinum - so it should be an easy leap to make the association between the health issues and the source. I'm copying this to Keeling . . . she can give you some speaking points on platinum. . . Her organization, CANDO, spearheaded the research. Thanks so much for contacting your Congressman/woman. .. . So many have been contacted, but so few are responding on this very important issue!
