Marla, This is interesting because we did three weeks of Valtrex and saw no great or obvious gains. When we finished the prescription we saw all of the things you mentioned. Interesting. Mindy

Hi All,My son (5 years old) just started Acyclovir as part of our first tryand anti-viral treatment, about 6 days ago. Here is what we are seeing:1. More aggression2. More lack of impulse control3. Throwing toys (he's always thrown toys when he doesn't know whatto do with them but this has increased.4. Low muscle tone issues again (seeing tongue sticking out more whenrelaxed5. Deep coughI haven't seen any wow's or even any real good changes yet. Right nowwe're pretty frustrated with him because he is just being so mean tohis sister and mean to his toys. Is aggression and aggresive typebehaviors something we might see with anti virals? He is pretty highfunctioning so I'm just not sure what is going on here and I know weshould just stay the course. Is this part of the regression (thingsbeing worse before they get better sort of thing)? Please advise. We're on Nystatin for yeast control and a boat load ofother suppliments. Thanks for your help. This EXACTLY what I’m petrified of…..and

the reason I’m second guessing filling my first Acyclovir RX.

Hi All,

4. Low muscle tone issues again (seeing tongue sticking out more when

5. Deep cough

I haven't seen any wow's or even any real good changes yet. Right now

we're pretty frustrated with him because he is just being so mean to

his sister and mean to his toys. Is aggression and aggresive type

I just started acyclovir (taking it myself about a week ago). I can tell you that I have had periods of very severe anxiety on it. I am not usually an anxious person. I have also been tired and "fussy" on it. I have weird aches and pains that come and go very quickly. For example, I will have a severe back ache for an hour or so and then be fine. Later in the same day my leg might start hurting. My doctor also gave me a steroid shot to help with the side effects and recommended a supplement (Neurotransmittor Support). I am much better on the supplement as I was off it for a couple of days and really noticed a difference. I am sure in a child, the side effects can be very disconcerting. You may want to ask if something hurts or just empathize with him.Good luck!BetsySubject: Acyclovir and behavior changes: Help PleaseTo: mb12 valtrex Date: Sunday, December 28, 2008, 1:04 PM
