There is Life after SiliconeBy Shirley Satterlee

In 1972 at the age of 17 I had silicone breast implants placed to correct genetic breast deformities. Within 6 months after the surgery I developed severe hypoglycernia, exhaustion, and cycles of depression, but I attributed these symptoms to the stress of being in nursing school. As years went by more health challenges arose. I started having arthritis, bone, muscle, and nerve pain, migraines, abdominal pain, digestive problems, constipation and diarrhea, numbness and tingling in my hands and feet, teeth pain, memory loss and "brain fog". I had to push myself constantly to be able to work and take care of my family. In 1982 I had to quit nursing due to my health. Through natural healing methods and lifestyle changes I recovered enough to go back to school and become a Herbalist, Iridologist, Reflexologist, Certified Nutrition Consultant and body worker. In 1984 I opened a retail herb store and private practice in natural healing. With extremely careful lifestyle, natural therapies, and about $500 of supplements per month I was once again able to work full time and take care of my family. But I still had daily pain throughout my body and occasional episodes of the old symptoms. In 1992 I started developing chemical sensitivities and all of my other symptoms became so severe that I had to close my business.

Over the next 2 years the symptoms progressed despite the best medical and natural treatments. Eventually I was no longer able to leave my home without a protective charcoal mask and no one could come into my home unless they had washed their clothes in natural laundry detergent and their body and hair in natural soap and shampoo. Due to chemicals in paper and print I had to wear my mask and cotton gloves to read anything. I could wear only cotton clothes, eat organically grown foods, and had to bathe in purified water. I developed symptoms of Lupus and M.S., was in a wheelchair or walked with a cane or walker, and was on oxygen at times. I was in constant pain and nothing in my body worked right anymore.

In 1994 I was diagnosed with silicone poisoning and removal of my implants was set for Oct. Although I had a team of specialists using a surgical protocol designed for chemically sensitive patients, my doctors were very concerned that I would not live through the operation. Chemical sensitivities, C.F.I.D.S., and other health challenges caused by silicone, kept me in bed and totally disabled for most of 4 years. I applied for and received total and permanent disability benefits at the age of 40. In April '96 I was exposed to fumes from wood stain and had hours of grand mal seizures, went into a deep coma and ended up on a ventilator in ICU not expected to live through the night. By the Grace of God I did live and was dismissed 4 days later weighing 87 lbs. And in very fragile condition- Over the next few months I began to improve some but still had to be very careful not to be around synthetics of any kind. I was able to do light grocery shopping if I went at odd hours to reduce the risk of exposure to perfumes, etc. I was able to be up and active 2 or 3 hours a day on my good days. This was progress, but I wanted a "real life" back and kept asking to be lead to whatever would take these terrible life-threatening reactions from me.

On Dec- 20,'96 I took my first 3 doses of Noni Juice. The next day we had a small kitchen fire. I was exposed to toxic fumes, which would have normally caused vomiting, diarrhea, confusion, seizures and serious respiratory cardiac and central nervous system complications. All it did was cause severe pain throughout my body, migraine, sore throat, sinus and lung congestion and a mouth full of canker sores. I found that 2oz of Noni Juice relieved my pain and kept me from having the usual reaction! Full recovery from this reaction took only one week instead of setting me back for months.

Six months later I'm able to work 10- 12 hours per day 5 or 6 days per week and go, do, and eat pretty much what I please. I rarely have a reaction and if I do I can usually neutralize it within 5 to 30 minutes with Noni Juice. I feel better than I have in 25 years and take a fraction of the supplements that I used to.

In May '97 I was finally well enough to return to Denver for my "post op" check up that was supposed to be done in Jan.'95. My doctors were thrilled to see me doing so well and wanted information on Noni Juice so that they could snare my story with other chemically sensitive and silicone damaged patients.

Hi ,

I've used Noni juice for a while . . . I think it

helped, but it was no where near the miracle (for me)

that some of the testimonies cite.

It's certainly worth trying!

Sounds like a very interesting recovery! I wish it would all work for us like this. Several years ago one of our members posted about Noni juice and that she thought it was helping her. Though it may help some people in some ways, I don't think it is a magic bullet by any means. (I wish it were!) There's alot of products out there that we hope to be our magic bullet, but I don't think there is such a thing for any of us. I think it takes a combination of things working together to make a difference and we all heal at different paces and in different degrees. I remember at my health food store a few years ago they were pushing the next greatest miracle product....Seasilver. Everybody was so excited about it, even though it cost an arm and a leg. My sister called a few weeks ago and was all excited about a product that I think she called Mangosteen juice or something like that. I think it is

all the same idea...people who are suffering from a certain level of malnourishment or low level antioxidant activity and various health issues finally get something that will help...and maybe all of these products provide those missing nutrients or antioxidants or whatever. I love the fact that so many people can provide fantastic healing testimonials! I think we all need to see evidence that healing can take place. But I think we need to keep a certain sense of practicality about all of them, and not fall for every miracle claim. Yes, have hope! But not blind trust. I think we all have to try various products though and see what works for us. A magic bullet would be wonderful...it would be nice if there was one! Melinda, I am so happy that you know someone who has had outstanding results with Noni! I also wanted to mention as an add-on to my previous post about Noni juice and other supplements, that I think we need to be prepared to try some of these things for the long term. Like at least 3 months or more. I know many times I wanted something to work but I gave up on it too soon. I probably failed to give some things a fair trial. It takes alot of patience! Thanks for sharing a successful testimony~ PattyMelinda <askydaughter@...> wrote: Hi ,A dear friend of mine (she recently had a heart transplant!) has written several books on Noni. Patty, I strongly agree that long term is far better in trying some of these

things -- I giggle

about the fact we can gain 3 lbs in a matter of two days but to adequately and

safely take

them off it takes as least two weeks! And a life style change to boot! Not

fair! *smile*

When I first began drinking InnerLight Super Greens (after witnessing a friend

actually get

better after brain and lung cancer) and taking my vitamin regime through " Yes " ,

I was, as

most of us are in this society, impatient but I stuck it out. After drinking

the Greens,

sometimes hearing people looking at it saying " Eeeuuwww! Swamp water! " for about

8

months, I went back for tests that had been forebodingly abnormal for a few

years. I had

urinary microscopic hematuria, pre-Barrettes syndrome, high cholesterol, to name

a few.

ALL tests came back normal. When I switched my vitamin regime about 1 month ago

(I

was taking about 14 a day) down to 4 per day I initially hit a slump but

persisting with

these new vitamins in about a month I kicked way up in my feeling better.

Little ones don't learn how to walk well in a day or two and it takes a few

bumps with falls

to get the balance right -- we should all watch them learning how and remember

that life

is like that, one step at a time with patience and persistance.

Thank you for your inspiration and reminder, Patty!

Blessings Be,

Melinda

p.s. If anyone wants links to " Innerlight " or " Yes " please let me know.
