Jill,

I went to Dr. Kolb for explant Wednesday May 24th. She put me on detoxing, but I think we all may be different. I am sure if you sent her and e-mail she might tell you a protocol for you. I was worried at first but know I got all my meds in order and it's not all that bad. You will just have to calm down, take it easy and get on a different schedule for the meds and detox. I will be honest it scared the crap out of me. I was the type to not take a Tylenol before implants. Did your explant Dr. find anything in your implants? I don't know what was in mine but I couldn't have been good, I was so sick. Thank God you have them out of you Jill hang in there and get some rest. They always say time heals pain.

Jill,

First, congradulations on your explant and welcome to

! . . .

Now is the time to drink lots of water . . . minimum

1/2 ounce per pound of body weight daily. When your

dressings come off, you may want to wear a snug, but

comfortable sports bra 24/7 until healing is well

underway so any internal scar tissue works for, rather

than against you.

There is no simple path to detoxing . . . We have a

number of detox programs listed in the achives. There

are so many targets . . . kidneys, liver, gut, skin,

etc. . . . My suggestion is that your read though them

.. . . decide what you want to try - then start slowly.

Don't try to do everything at once. . .

There's an effect called the Herximer effect that can

cause you to feel worse temporarily. The idea is to

detox without herxing so badly that you'll quit trying

to detox.

I posted a message on detox foot pads today. You may

want to check that out. . .

The Maker's Diet - Rubin is an excellent book that

describes the necessity of following a diet that will

allow your body to heal. I highly recommend it!

Getting better takes time, patience and discipline.

It's not a quick fix. Rather than give the body

medications that makes one feel better, we try to

address the cause of the problem. The human body has

incredible healing powers. It's your job to give it

what it needs to begin healing.

When you have questions, we're here. We've tried just

about everything you can imagine . . . Hopefully we

can save you some time and money on your healing

journey.

Hugs and prayers,

Rogene

Jill, Congratulations on getting your implants out--your health can only get better now. Regarding your question about Dr. Shoemaker, I considered going to see him a few months ago as I was still experiencing symptoms a year after explant such as burning feet (attributable to being exposed to mold) even after doing a lot of detoxing and seeing a naturopath. I wrote to him and received some paperwork, but was put off by the $650 office visit fee that's not covered by insurance. It's up to you, but a lot of that is for testing, which it sounds like you've already done. I decided I'd be better off flying to Altanta to see Dr. Kolb in Atlanta as she uses his treatment, which is basically doing the VCS test and prescribing Cholestyramine. In addition, she knows so much about breast implant illness and detoxing. It was worth it to me. You might not need to go

to those lengths, though, as there's a lot of good information on detoxing on this site. Katejillmarciano <jillmarciano@...> wrote: Got my one year old implants out yesterday! Yeah! I already feel relieved. Hopefully I can now focus on getting my body whole again. I was wondering if you all could point me in the right direction to detoxifying? Some of the info gets confusing about where to start. Also, my Alpha-MSH level was a 15. (That is majorly low) Do you think it would be worth my while to pay a visit to Dr. Shoemaker? He isn't that far from me. ThanksJill

Hi Jill! Congratulations on your explant surgery! Yes, now is the time to focus on getting your body whole again. Detoxing is a totally individual affair....there are many aspects of setting up a detoxification program, so it would be prudent to do some reading and then decide what seems comfortable to you, keeping in mind that the goals are to stop putting toxins in the body, and then prompting the body to give up what toxins are there. To stop putting toxins in the body, start with diet, making sure that you are eating wholesome foods that are organic, and concentrating on fruits and vegetables. Cut out as much processed foods as you can, eliminating those made with white sugar, white flour, white shortening (hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils), and chemical preservatives. Cut out all sodas, coffee, and other drinks that are mainly sugar water or concentrated juices.

Cut out anything made with high fructose corn syrup. Replace commercial eggs with organic eggs, and cut dairy out entirely or if you do consume dairy, look for raw milk cheeses and yogurts with live bacterial cultures. Eat free range meats. Juicing is one of the most effective ways to consume large amounts of nutrient and enzyme rich vegetables and will help alkalize the body. Drink lots of pure water. To help your body purge toxins, you will want to do things that cause you to sweat, such as exercise and the use of saunas. You will want to help your lymph system by walking or using a mini-trampoline. For whole body cleansing, fasting is a very effective way to purge toxins out of the body, but I would caution anyone doing a fast to research this technique and prepare mentally for the effort, as there is a right way to fast and a wrong way to fast. The Master

Cleanse is another form of detox using a fast. Colonics help clear the bowel, and the liver flush helps clear the liver and gall bladder. Coffee enemas are very effective for toxin removal. Then there are the supplements that help with reducing the viral, bacterial and fungal load. These are important for those of us with a weak immune system. Eating raw garlic is one of the most beneficial ways to assist the immune system. Then there are supplements such as olive leaf extract, grapefruit seed extract, oregano oil, coconut oil, and several others (such as certain mushrooms) that do this important work. It is also important to repopulate the intestinal flora with beneficial organisms. Garden of Life products are very good. Fungal defense helps fight off candida infections, while Primal Defense helps supply the beneficial organisms.

As you can see, there are many approaches you can take. As you learn about your body and how to apply these detoxification techniques, you will become more comfortable with them and can implement more into your lifestyle. Over time, these will become second nature to you. You will learn to live a healthy lifestyle and you'll be much better off for it! If you have more questions about any of these things, feel free to ask. Be sure to check through our files section on healing therapies as well. Jill,

Congratulations on the explant and a new start at life again. I got mine out last Wednesday and got my drains and stitches removed today. Dr. Kolb did a wonderful job and I am just so glad these toxic bags are out of me and maybe someday I might regain my health back. I know everyone's detox is different so I think Patty's suggestions were excellent. Detox is important to get well someday I do believe that. Good Luck Jill and let us know how you are doing and if you have questions this support group is excellent.

Isn't that just amazing how the rashes disappear? Mine did, too. I had a

horrible itchy

rash for 5 years. Four dermatologists, creams up the gazoo and nothing helped,

until I

explanted.

Well, Donna is blessed, but she did the footwork and took action...

It was simply incredible to see her jump on this, as soon as she made the

connection.

That was very very smart.
