Sherry, thanks for the suggestion to post this to the group. It's a

good idea.

Cosmetic surgeons are not necessarily receiving any information about

complications associated with silicone implants. At this juncture,

the medical profession is told, largely, that such complaints come

from either the psychoneurotic or those desirous of the monetary

compensation.

Do you not think this correspondence would serve the list rather than

private?

Thanks )

Response to Plastic Surgeon Article

I'm not sure if I understood your message, correctly - when you

said " your cosmetic surgeon is just following what.... " My email

wasn't to my surgeon, it was in response to an article in a magazine.

Also, Sherry, even though we are taught something by teachers,

organizations, etc. I believe, when we find out the teaching is

false, or untruthful and has information to back that, as the medical

documents supporting breast implants are being dangerous to women, it

is the person's responsibility (in this case the doctor involved) to

change their behaviour and follow their healing code. I feel very

strongly about them being accountable to us, the patients. I am a

Holistic Practitioner and carry this code close to my heart when I

give information to my clients that didn't work for them, or caused

them any discomfort, I take ownership of my actions immediately and

encourage others to do the same. I look for ways to improve myself. I

find that there is a lot of " pussy-footing " around and " walking on

eggshells " mentality in our world and more people need to communicate

with one another directly, without insulting of course. We need to

discern, not judge negatively, right?

Wow, there it goes. I've been dealing with a couple of issues lately

that have been frustrating in my life. Breast implants being just

one of them....so I guess I needed to say that! Thanks for

listening, via email :)

Bless you,

Sunny :)

The cosmetic surgeons certainly will not receive negative

information from the manufacturers.

As far as I am concerned if they don't seek it out...or ignore their

patients symptons...then they are being highly irresponsible.

From what I can determine, most on this board are educated. I,

myself was in medical research for many years.

And I am self paying for my own explantation. No monetary award for

me.

Ladies,

I wish I were as tactful and gracious as Lea and some on this board. But when

it comes to

plastic surgeons, well, it is hard for me to be tactful and gracious. I know

there are some

dedicated and good PS, but the field is such that it attracts the scum of the

medical field.

The parallel in the legal field is community association lawyers -- there is

very little

regulation or oversight in this area, there is a huge amount of money to be

made, and

there is a huge amount of fraud and incompetence.

Plastic surgeons routinely ignore the FDA's regulation on the silicone adjunct

study, to the

point the FDA would not even consider the " results " from that study on rupture.

The PS do

not listen to women's complaints, instead telling them that implants cannot

possibly cause

such problems. They thus defeat the whole purpose of the adjunct study, and

have turned

it into a sham.

It is sad to hear that doctors are being told that anyone who

complains of implant illness is psychoneurotic (or something to that

effect) or looking for money. I was totally open minded one year

ago when I got the implants - and I remember how scared I was when

my lymph nodes started swelling up within two weeks, followed

quickly by joint swelling, anxiety, numb fingers and toes, etc. I

wish I wasn't so open minded, I never would have gotten the

implants. However, that same open-mindedness is what lead me to

getting the implants removed within six months.
