Guest guest
http://www.implantinfo.com/plastic_surgeons_c/colony/index.html ImplantInfo.com is a Breast Implant Industry sites that promotes breast implants and various surgeons who pay big $$$ to be on this site. Once again ... a dangerous PS is being sold to the women who go there for " unbiased " advice. http://www.wlns.com/Global/story.asp?S=4953120 & nav=0RbQ , suffering after plastic surgery: " My biggest fear is somebody else is going to end up like me. " It's a plastic surgery nightmare, one that sadly came true for a Michigan woman. Earlier on 6 News, we introduced you to a woman who says she went in for liposuction and a tummy tuck. Instead, she got two years of pain and misery, and we learn she's not the only one. The state medical board is looking into the cases of four women, all who say they went to Doctor Lee Colony for plastic surgery. All who say their surgeries went painfully wrong. America is obsessed with looking good. Millions are flocking to plastic surgeons for quick results, but that shortcut to beauty can lead to the fast track of pain and suffering. is living proof of just how bad things can get. : " I have had kidney stones and I have given birth to two children, and I would rather have all of those three things happen to me together than every have this again. " She's referring to the constant pain she's been in since she went to Doctor Lee Colony for liposuction and a tummy tuck more than two years ago. She developed an infection that went undiagnosed for nearly four months. An infection that led to dead skin that needed to be surgically removed, three skin grafts that didn't take and a life far from the one she imagined. : " I can't wear clothes, I can't wear undergarments because it creates open wounds. " 's story is just one of four cases being investigated by the Michigan Attorney General's Office. Four women who experienced similar problems after plastic surgery. All of them patients of Doctor Lee Colony of East Lansing. Nate , Michigan Attorney General's Office: " There were concerns in the way procedures were conducted, and there were continued concerns in the way followup care was conducted with these patients. " 6 News has obtained a report filed with the State Board of Medicine by investigators from the Attorney General's Office. The 20-page report details the problems each woman experienced following surgery. It tells of one woman who never received her pain medicine after getting breast implants. She later went to another doctor to have problems with the implants corrected. The other cases are similar to 's, all three women went to Doctor Colony for liposuction and a tummy tuck. In all three cases, the patients noticed that the skin around their incisions started dying. Nate : " That's clearly one of the common things that we find that there is a wound breakdown, there are problems following surgery, there are problems with the recovery process. " Problems the attorney general's report says could have easily been avoided. Nate : " incompetence tends to indicate more of a trend, a pattern of that negligence. " Actions they say amount to negligence, incompetence and a lack of good moral character. In the report, the state claims Doctor Colony failed to do proper followup exams, and on more than one occasion, he would document that the patient was doing well, even though the patient said they were experiencing serious problems. Time after time, the report details how the problems persisted until another doctor stepped in a took over the patient's care. Nate : " when you have patients with an infection going to other doctors, and the original doctor is telling them everything is fine, that the patient is fine, and that's a concern when you see that kind of vast disconnect, it really troubles you. " .. Doctor Colony's case is now before the State Medical Board for review. Whether he'll face disciplinary action is yet to be decided. Meanwhile, he continues to practice out of his East Lansing office. : " I want them to take his license, I want everybody to know he's doing this to people. " We tried to get Doctor Colony to comment on the allegations made against him, but he refused. However, his attorney filed a written response to the state. In it, he denies all of the allegations made against him by all four women, specifically denying claims that he was negligent, incompetent and that he lacked good moral character.
