Vicki, I am going to a adreanl Doc soon and I heard he is the best. I guess they can give you adrenal injections. To find a doc who deals with adreanls in your area this is the number I called to find him.1-. I was lucky to find a doc a hour away from me. That would be cool adreanal transplants! I believe the injections are called solucort or something like that. The iv solution given during a surgery for an adrenal patient is solumedro or dexamethasone iv.

I know that some are used for emergencies. I have not used the solucort but got the solumedrol during my last surgery last week and it made me feel like a million bucks. It was given as adrenal support during the surgery with two more half doses 8 hours apart. It really let me know how much adrenal support I have been missing and I have upped my cortef dose.

I think the solucort is also carried in a preloaded syring for emergencies but must be replaced yearly.
