Guest guest
Hi Donna, I had my nipples removed and replaced. I had incisions from below the nipple to the bottom of my breast - think this is called a lollipop incision. I had 56 dissolveable stitches plus 10 which felt like wire. Through bathing twice a day, my tapes began to loosen quickly and after two weeks, I removed them myself and the stitches came off with the tapes apart from the wire ones. I felt better doing it myself as I know my own pain barrier (lol) as my surgeon is far from gentle!! The thought of him yanking off the tapes was more than I could have borne which is why I decided to remove them myself the day before seeing him.!! The wire ones were taken out by the surgeon after 2 weeks. I put emu oil on them and the scars on my nipples are disappearing gradually, though I do have some "puckering" in places. The scars under the nipple are quite prominent still and my breast has not filled out in that region but I was warned that I would not be left with much breast and although a little dissapointed I would rather look like this than how I looked and felt before. Beside, in clothes, you cannot tell and people think I look better with a smaller bust. I really should post some pics but don't want to put anyone off having explants. Do you still have any pain or soreness? Have a happy sunny day, Love .
