New Guide to Natural Sun Protection With summer coming, it's time to start thinking about protecting your skin from the sun. But the popular recommendation of sunscreen-and-sunglasses isn't healthful or necessary. In my new 27-page e-book Debra's Guide to Choosing Natural Sun Protection find out why I don't recommend sunscreen or sunglasses and how you can enjoy the health benefits of sunshine in balance with natural protection when it's necessary. Read Debra's Guide to Choosing Natural Sun Protection... After more than twenty years as a health and environmental consumer advocate and looking for products to use in my own personal life, I know where to buy a few things. In fact, I have more than 1,000 websites for nontoxic, natural, and earthwise products that I am posting to this site as fast as I can. Shop Debra's List Start "window shopping" by choosing a category from the list to the left. A double click will open a world of new possibilities for purchasing nontoxic, natural, and earthwise products of all kinds. The purpose of Debra's List is to organize, make accessible, and make known the wide variety of products and services that are currently available with life-sustaining health and environmental benefits...and to inspire you to use them in your everday life. This doesn't mean I intend to put a link to every possible product that qualifies! Not only would that be impossible, but such a list would not make it easier for any of us to find products we are looking for. What this site contains are websites I've come across that have piqued my interest and I think you will like, too. Many other websites delve deeply into a single product and that's great. But as consumers, we all are purchasing a wide spectrum of products for our everyday lives. So this list is more about variety than completeness, and quality over quantity. Debra's List is a work-in-progress. It's like putting together an enormous puzzle that eventually reveals a picture of a world that cares about supporting life. I add new links every week. Mark this site as a "favorite" and come visit again and again. Sign up for my FREE newsletters I now have FIVE free email newsletters on different aspects of healthy and earthwise living. If you are not yet a subscriber to my twice-monthly Health, Home & Habitat newsletter, check out the back issues and subscribe. And take a look at my other newsletters, too... to Debra's free newsletters... Learn about the links I have chosen these links very carefully, according to criteria I've developed over the last twenty years. For more about what makes Debra's List unique, how I choose the links, the rating system I use throughout Debra's List, and what those little symbols mean, go to About the links. Contribute Since 1982, I have been providing resources like the ones on this site through books and newsletters. The sale of these books and newsletter subscriptions supported this work. Now, the Internet makes it possible to keep my resource lists up-to-date and expanding every week. I want to there to be free access so this information is accessible to all, and, at the same time, there needs to be an inflow of resources to sustain this activity. Rather than require your credit card to access the lists, or clutter the pages with advertising, I've set up a voluntary financial contribution program for both individuals and businesses. And there are other ways you can help Debra's List. If you benefit from Debra's List, please contribute in return. make an INDIVIDUAL financial contribution now...become a BUSINESS sponsor now... According to a study by the Center for Energy & Climate Solutions, shopping on the internet helps the environment! On-line shopping saves energy and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by decreasing consumer transportation and shipping of products to retail stores. One delivery truck efficiently delivering gifts uses less energy than each recipient driving around to many stores.
