Guest guest
Allyson, I used Dr. Kolb and she was wonderful. No implant is worth risking your health for. I am glad I did the explant, no regrets. It came to either loose the implants or feel like crap everyday of your life. So of course I lost the implants. Good Luck Donna
Guest guest
Allyson, It is normal to be scared. I have not had mine out yet. I had scheduled with Dr. Kolb and had scheduling conflicts and had to cancel. Everyone here seems to really like her. Where in Virginia are you from? I also live in Virginia. What symptons have you been having? > > Hello ladies, > My explant date is getting closer and I am so scared. I am doubting > having the explant done, but I know it's the smartest thing to do. Guest guest
Hi, Allyson! My name is . I had my implants taken out by Dr. Kolb 4 weeks ago. She is AMAZING! She's incredibly patient, and really WANTS to HEAR what you have to say. I never ONCE felt rushed by her! Also, she's been doing explantation for YEARS, and is extremely knowledgeable, not only about the explantation itself, but about the detoxing process afterwards! I am so thankful that I found her! She is the same dr. that removed my mom's implants 10 years ago, during the silicone catastrophe! It's only natural to be worried about the surgery, and to doubt having something taken " away from you " , so to speak. I know that i struggled with the idea for many, many months. As weird as it is, i'm LOVING being back to my flat chested self! I don't really understand it, due to the fact that i LOVED having my larger bust... but it's the reality... and I'm THANKFUL for it! =) You might just be surprised, yourself! I hope this helps put your mind at ease to SOME extent! ... from California On 6/12/06, allysonallysonkrick <adkrick@...> wrote: Hello ladies,My explant date is getting closer and I am so scared. I just have to keep telling myself that in the long run it's cheaper and safer. I do have a question also Last year a women from the support group e mailed me about having the explant done. I think she was collecting data for some research. She told me to contact he when I had my explant sceduled. Does anyone know her name and address? I have lost this. I will be using Dr. Kolb. I have seen there are several others who have used her. I feel confident she will do the best job. Thanks to you all and the information you keep sharing. I am so grateful to have found this site. Guest guest
Rogene, What is up with this study, is it something you have to go to New York for? Or just questions. Donna
Guest guest
Rogene, Yes, I do remember getting the e-mail. I e-mailed her and she said, you have to get explant first. I think I will e-mail her back if this might help stop the madness. Thanks, Donna
Guest guest
Hi Allyson, I personally never regretted having the implants removed, I only regretting getting them in the first place. I have never once second guessed my decision to explant. I hope that you can find peace with your decision, especially if you're ill with the same types of symptoms that the rest of us have or did have. Rogene should have some information about the woman who was running a study - but I'm not sure if she was able to do it because she was in Louisiana and the hurricane hit. Guest guest
Sis, I sent Allyson the info . . . If anyone else is interested in getting involved in a study to find out why women get sick from breast implants, they can contact Liz at York Clinical <liz@...>. Liz is handling things for Deb. Guest guest
The study is just a collection of specimens . . . to be sent before and after explant . . . They will send you a postage paid container to ship the specimens in . . . You just need to have someone draw your blood. Deb had implants too . . She got very sick. She has a company that does research for drug companies. She decided to take on this study so she could help stop the maddness! . . . I thought I had the group set up to send an automatic message on joining telling women about the study. Do you remember getting one? She badly needs donations to support the study - but participation is free.
