Ladies,

This has been interesting.

As i posted earlier, I somehow saw your home page list of symptoms

and thought " wow - that is a Hashi's list of symptoms, and a pretty

darn good one at that. "

And as i originally suspected, there ARE a number of Hashi's folks

here...and those with thyroid dysfunction not diagnosed as Hashi's.

We (my thyroidal buddies) find them (undertreated hypo folks) in all

sorts of areas - the fibro forums, the CFS forums, the MCS

forums...but i have been fairly surprised to see such a large group

in a Saline Support forum.

But it shouldn't surprise me..my own untreated Hashi's worsened (as

should be expected) after surgery/anethesia for breast implants.

But what is sad to me...as is sad to me in whatever arena we see

Hashi's folks who aren't optimally treated...is that folks here

might be having unnecessary surgery when their symptoms could have

been relieved with enough thyroid hormone. We see all sorts of

treatments/procedures that folks have gone through that were

unnecessary.

That is a tragedy. In not one of these threads/discussions over the

past few days..did a Hashi's person post their Free levels and say

to me " See - i AM optimally treated - My Free T4 is in the upper 1/3

of the range and my Free T3 is right at the top of the range or

slightly over - and I STILL have these symptoms " . If I had heard

that from anyone, the credibility about Hashi's/thyroid and implants

would be much more credible. But if the thyroid folks are not being

optimally treated...it is negilgent to even suggest explant because

of the additional risk of surgery to someone who is hypo.

Anyway, those are just my closing thoughts. My thyroid forum is

really too busy for me to try to keep up with another forum. But I

wish you all the very best. It sounds like a great group of gals

here.

If any of you thyroidal folks want some help, come on over to NTH -

Natural Thyroid Hormones. Or feel free to post a question at our

site, www.stopthethyroidmadness.com. But be forewarned, the first

thing we will ask you about are your Free levels.

Take care gals...i'm moving on.

Cindi
