Guest guest
Penni, I don't know of anyone who's had gummy bears removed . . . they're fairly new on the market . . . I'd check with Drs Kolb and Feng to see if they've seen them come out. Since women who get them are part of a study, I suspect that any problems are going to be kept close to the chest by the plastic surgeons. They want these on the market! My daughter's college roommate was intent on getting implants after breast cancer . . . She didn't want to even consider otherwise. . . I kept sending her info . . . She decided not to get them and has been very thankful she didn't. She had a host of autoimmune problems her entire life . . . Even the expanders they put in were causing her problems that her doctor was ignoring. Rogene
Guest guest
No, but you might recall the original Dow Corning implants were basically the same as these newer ones. But, I suspect that she is actually getting the same kind they have had on the market for the last 25 years, just like those of us who had silicone got. Guest guest
Here's an earlier model ... http://radiographics.rsnajnls.org/cgi/content/full/20/3/e1 Cavon " Cast Gel " implants: " Dr. ph F. Cavon designed a breast implant with no shell and very cohesive gel which was avaliable from Uphoff, and then Aesthetech, from about 1980 to 1985, very few were ever placed. " " Cavon implant, showing the distinctive " elephant-skin " appearance of these implantsat time of removal. This implant had no shell, and hence no back patch. The gel was of increased cohesiveness compared to most implants. " http://radiographics.rsnajnls.org/cgi/content/full/20/3/e1 Cavon JF. Cast gel implantable prosthesis. U.S. patent 4,470,160, 1984. Guest guest
Ouch, glad they were never placed in many women. Guest guest
Penni, I bet you could e-mail Dr. Kolb and Dr. Feng and Dr. Melmed for your research for the neighbor. I hope she don't get them. Donna
