She filled our heads w/ all kinds of nonsense to make us force Destiny to sit still or crawl the right way. I, like you, felt it was more important for her to be mobile like other children than sit still and do it " right. " The PT said Destiny would wear a bald spot in her hair that would never grow back (WRONG), would never walk or walk very late (WRONG), and it would impair her for the rest of her development (WRONG). We never let Destiny backsoot in front of her, but at home she was very good at getting around everywhere. Destiny was hypersensitive in her hands and knees so she was extremely resistant to crawling. She crawled a little, but as soon as she could pull to stand she either cruised when she could or backscooted when there was nothing to hold on to. Don't let the PT bully you into something you feel in your gut it wrong. This is not going to be the last time you have to but heads w/ the " professionals " and do what you know is right for your child. Besides, you have the support of the Charge articles on your side. The latest report says that Charge kids often backscoot before walking. Good Luck! (Destiny 6 CHARgE, Zachary 4) NYC
