*Hi Tricia,*

*I can TOTALLY understand having a tough time due to pain- even when taking

meds. i personally had a heck of a weekend pain wise and most of yesterday

was spent on couch and crying. I just get ''hopeless'' I guess you can call

it and just get so upset cause i wish i had my ''normal'' life back before

pain. but living with this pain for almost 7 yrs starting at age 22 it seems

like this is the normal for me now. ugh*

*I wanted to mention I have RSD- reflex sympathetic dystrophy in my right

knee that also spread over the yrs to my entire leg n foot also. I was

diagnosed about 3wks after I fell down a flight of cellar stairs at my

inlaws but my first dealing with the dr i saw (an orthopaedic dr id seen at

age 14 when breaking my wrist after volleyball) was pure hell. he didnt know

what was wrong with me, questioned if i was in as much pain as id stated (in

all honesty i was in worse!!) but after he transferred me to a specialist

id found out i had rsd which i knew nothing about at first.*

*My ??? to you is....what are the drs telling you you ''have'' and have they

ever mentioned RSD??? i wonder why theyd give you lyrica which is

basically for people with fibromyalgia and they also give to people with rsd

like myself. In my case it did nothing for me...just made me very sleepy to

point i couldnt get out of bed even if i wanted to. My dr tried that med a

few yrs back whn it was first starting to come out...id been on neurontin

and he switched me. later on i went back on neurontin which has been my

''base'' med and helped me.*

*i am sorry to also hear you are having no luck with drs and even with the

emergency room docs..i as well as many here can probably understand alot

more then youd understand but alot of us have been thru the ringer when it

comes to drs, diagnosis and meds/treatments ect.*

* A good friend of mine for past 5+yrs whos been a member of my rsd

group lives in columbus ohio area i believe and is being treated for her

rsd/pain there. She was a surgeon tech/nurse before getting hurt and now on

disability. if youd like i can ask her about her drs and maybe even put

you two in touch. I know she probably has contacts/friends in the medical

community in columbus ohio so she may be of some assistance. She is a

sweetheart, become a great friend and support to me and i know with any of

us when we are helping someone else it helps take our minds off our own

ordeals ect.*

*But id be happy to mention you/your situation to her n like i said i could

probably get you her email address or vice versa. just let me know hun and

know you have a wonderful group of caring people here that will

''virtually'' hold ur hand thru it all !!!*

In alot of pain this morning even though I have meds. Lyrica is one of

them but that does not seem to do much.Tired of dealing with the docs in

Newark,Ohio that do not seem to know much as none can agree on what is

wrong with my knee. As i have been told five different things. Even have

been told that my normal which is a crock. All the swelling and PAIN is

not " normal " Sometimes it looks as if my left knee is buldging.I am

thinking of telling my doc that I want a referral for OSU in

Columbus,Ohio for a specialist,instead of dealing with docs in

Newark,Ohio.Forget the docs in the ER they are rude at Licking Memorial.

Thank you I will look into this and mention it to my doctor and will do

research on this myself.I sometimes have pinching feeling in the lower part of

my neck between the shoulders that hurts alot too. Does not happen all the

time.He gave me lyrics hoping that it would help I think but it really does

not.Depending on his reaction to what I ay to him will determine if i go to OSU

which I more than likely will go there.Thank You for your support and taking the

time to care,I will be thinking about all of you!
