Guest guest
Hi , I think a large number of us have had a lot of dental problems after the exposure. Primarily gums and bone loss, I think. My gums turned black around my teeth. My tongue still gets black sometimes. I look like a Chow. I rinse my mouth with hydrogen peroxide. That seems to help. Sharon Hello, I am wondering if any of you, who have been exposed to mold long term, have had any increase in problems with you teeth. I am especially interested in hearing from anyone who had no problems with their teeth and then find after exposure to mold having extensive problems. Also, for those of you who are so good at finding research, have you come across anything regarding problems with teeth and a weakened immune system? thanks ahead of time for any information any of you can share. Guest guest
, A few months ago I went looking for stuff on possible interactions between mold in homes and oral health because I had a spot in the front of my mouth (where the air impacted when I was often forced to breathe through my mouth when my nose was stuffed up) where I had gum disease and nomatter what I tried, all of my dentists suggestions, including brushing my teeth and flossing every time I ate anything at all.. much more than three times a day, to get it to heal, it wouldn't heal.. (I now am pretty sure that what happened was that I was acting as an impaction sampler for the trichothecene mycotoxins in the air - because my mouth was moist and I have a gap between my front teeth. ) But, anyway, I did this search, and in the course of this search for the possible reasons for this blistering I found a LOT of stuff on various oral mycoses, most of which were things that primarily happened to people who were immunocompromised or immunosupressed..but sometimes happened to other people too. (I am not HIV-positive or immunosupressed, just someone who was - at that time - living in a moldy environment) By the way, it took a while but finally, after I moved, that wound healed. Do a search on PubMed ( http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi ) using whatever keywords you think are appropriate to your condition and you should be able to find what I am talking about.. By the way, if you can afford either/both, both WaterPiks and Sonicare toothbrushes are great tools to have for keeping your mouth clean.. Rinsing your mouth out with 50% dilute (OTC) hydrogen peroxide and water before you brush also helps get your mouth super clean.. (not the industrial strength kind they use for mold detox!) Please talk to your doctor! But if you want to know if such a connection exists, yes, many papers have been published about subjects like that.. Guest guest
, I had virtually no problems with my teeth (one cavity in 40 years) until after mold exposure. Since that time (over the past 6 years) I've had some major dental issues - 6 cavities, 2 eventually getting root canals and just this past summer I had a root canal tooth removed and a bridge put in place. I had attributed the root canal tooth problem to a chronic infection as that tooth was very infected at the time of the root canal and I had active Lyme disease at the time - not a good combination. Guest guest
We also had teeth problems. My daughter had perfect teeth at age 6. Age 7 (after 1 yr of exposure) she had to have 5 root canals (whatever they call it for kids) 3 cavities. Within the last 2 years they are doing much better. Sharon is it a film on your tongue? Hard to get it off? Re: [] Question 4 everyone regarding dental Hi , I think a large number of us have had a lot of dental problems after the exposure. Primarily gums and bone loss, I think. I had horrendous dental problems in my 12 years in a sick building. Can't remember how many times I got thrush, had infections in my mouth, had to have teeth pulled. Was on antibiotics so often I can't even remember. The funny thing was I had gone to Ireland on vacation with the beginnings of another infection that I didn't attend to before leaving and ended up at the doctor's in Ireland. They presecribed antifungal medication as opposed to antibiotics. Mulvey son
Guest guest
, My wife sure did. It wasn't long after her initial exposure all of her teeth rotted at the gumline and had to be removed. Can I honestly say the mold exposure caused this, in my mind yes, in others no. But all can say is that is when it started. What the dentist did say was that her pH level was very acidic and that the acid was actually eating away at the enamel. Guest guest
Ditto. Is it your roots? Mine seem to be getting very testy and inflamed leading to root canals and extactions. <eaglestone@...> wrote: Teeth falling apart here too. Guest guest
-my sinus infections keep going into my gums causeing a lot of very painful tooth ackes, i have had 3 that died from the roots while the tooth was still good. i've seen a picture of allergic fungal sinusitis and it shows the infection going into and around the whole gum area. thinking this was shown by ct scan but may have been a mri. may be why we are loseing our teeth. has anyone been diagnosed with this?-- In , Edy Rayfield <edyrayfield@...> wrote: > > Ditto. Guest guest
I do know that the teeth and sinuses are very close together. When I had a tooth pulled before I got sick the doctor talked about an implant, but said I would have to have my sinuses lifted cuz they were too low for an implant. Yea I would do that. I can remember when I had the tooth pulled the doctor that pulled it said don't blow my nose or anything cuz my sinuses were so close to the area. I also had sinus surgery eventually plus gum disease before my illness. Maybe the bad teeth are from gum disease. I know they took a culture after doing all the work and I had to take some really strong antiobiotic. Teeth falling apart here too. > > > > > > Re: [] Question 4 everyone regarding dental > > > > my teeth started falling apart. Guest guest
The PH thing is interesting- I drank a special water for the year of my recovery that was supposed to be good for it and was alkaline- Penta- maybe this helped me keep my teeth- but I also have found Biotene mouth wash to be helpfull, it is for people w/dry mouth, most of us suffer from that-dry mouth by itself will help you loose all your teeth- if I rinse w/Biotene and use a tongue scrapper-I keep the fungus at bay and have a normal looking tongue. A MCS'er just told me there is a machine you can buy that will change your water to any PH you want-expensive, but helps keep him de-toxed. > > > > Hello, > > > > I am wondering if any of you, who have been exposed to mold long > term, have had any increase in problems with you teeth.
