Guest guest
Steve, I have not responded to your posts but have been watching with great interest as this group has encourgaged and supported you as you struggled for relief. Your discovery about the furniture and the air purifier is awesome. It strikes at the heart of what many of us MUST eventually come to terms with. Out of despiration, you began blindly experimenting without waiting for an expert to give you permission. You risked additional failure and criticism because to do otherwise continued the current failure of your health. You started at the only place you could, which was exactly were ever you found yourself. You could only begin with a guess as to what " might " be the source of the exposures that are harming you. The only basis for assessing success was improvement in how you feel according to ONLY how YOU feel, irrespective of all others. IF doctors help, by all means continue. But if they don't you are on your own - except for friends like these on that refused to let you give up. That makes them and you heros in my book. Guest guest
Glad you are feeling a little better. It is amazing when you find what is bothering you how much better you feel. I just let my nose find the source. When I and many on this group first got ill we had never heard about mold or the bad chemicals in our products. I was never really on the internet before this illness. Imagine when I was telling my family that there was something wrong with the house. I had never even read about mold back then. And trying to tell the doctors. Most were nice I guess cuz I started out in the hospital with severe uticaria so they couldn't deny that problem. My landlords treated my terrible. What was even worse that they had their young sons run the situation and they removed dangerous wallpaper and painted while I was waiting for sinus surgery. Then they told us to get out while I was recovering from surgery. I did one time walk out of the neurologist office crying and telling them they didn't have any compassion. I certainly have learned alot about mold, chemicals, our government and humanity. Very disappointed. Hope you continue to feel better. --- In , " shybasset " <shybasset@...> wrote: > > living room suite (herculon fabric over foam cushions), two side > chairs, dinning room table/chairs(old set), living room cabinet > removed from my home.....and by today, it " seems " as though those > items(mainly 3 piece) were the (main?) Guest guest
Good job Steve. I'm glad you made some changes and are feeling better. You are correct in the fact food also play a role in our health. But it all takes time. It just helps to find something (or get rid of something) that helps you feel better, even the slightest improvement can be wonderful. [] Narrowing in on problem...maybe....last week I had a 3 piece........ living room suite (herculon fabric over foam cushions), two side chairs, dinning room table/chairs(old set), living room cabinet removed from my home.....and by today, it " seems " as though those items(mainly 3 piece) were the (main?) cause of burning eyes and running nose(rhinitis) that prevented me from remaining more than a few minutes any where in house. And when I turned OFF my (plastic/fiberglass) air purifier(with charcoal filter and hepa filter), my eyes mostly stopped burning and nose less running. It all MAY have been the fiberglass material in the above items gassing off....OR IT WAS MOLD contained in them. BUT they are gone, and I'm some better symptom wise. I finished an $$$$EGD (endoscopy) 2 weeks ago....doc didn't have well prepared notes/results////15 minute appt////I'm complaining to the Hospital Admin....sick of POOR QUALITY doc visits when they have you on the CLOCK and MIS DIAGNOSE you and hurry the conversation to get you out with bad med info...guess my drug rep history intimidates them, but it's HIGH TIME the docs be ACCOUNTABLE....I'm not going to be intimidated by " ego trips " of theirs. Sorry, but MD incompetency is a hot button for me! It's pretty bad when I give thenm info on tests to run and they do it and act like they don't know the rationale for doing it! Aren't we all FED UP by docs telling us that our problems(med) are " all in iur heads " . Anyway, I hope this improvement lasts....I also think certain foods we eat may contribute to (bodily) allergic symptom reactions. But I have prayed that my health remain stable enough where I don't have to MOVE as a result of the past several months symptoms. Thanks for everyone's support on this board....it's soooo discouraging when no doc is able to give you a dx and you go many months not knowing what's wrong! Guest guest
Steve, Awesome job. Congratulations on taking action in finding the cause of what was irritating your condition. Pat yourself on the back bro', job well done. You don't hear too many stories like yours where the affected may have actually located the cause on their own, especially when it comes to chemical reaction. Let's hope the furniture was the primary source and it's a great lesson for everyone here, sometimes it's not what is always suspected, MOLD. You did not mention if this furniture was new or used. The reason I ask if it was used there is a possibility of not only mold infestation, but also bacteria. Just curious. It is so difficult at times when you have to take things into your own hands, especially when you are sick and most doctors just give you the run around. I don't believe that they do this purposely, they just don't know on how much our living or work environment can affect our health. Whether it is chemical, mold, etc. But when we prove them wrong and we find the cause let's hope they are learning from us and take notice. Steve, I am ecstatic, that you did all of this on your own. Something definately to be proud of. You must be experiencing a real good feeling in your gut. Fantastic. Hope you will continue to recover.
