Guest guest
We believe our dog became ill from the mold. He started to decline while we lived in our house and after seeing Dr. Shoemaker we now understand that his symptoms were mold related. When we moved I cleaned the things I took and placed them in new plastic garbage bags. You said " no plastic " so maybe you can't do that. You might be able to purchase some cheap luggage. Our experience involved many moves! Can you have your dog professionally groomed on the day you move so that you move a " clean " dog into your new place? I would think a good bath should be sufficient. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. - > > My heart goes out to all of us suffering. We will survive. Guest guest
Now I am just guessing but I wonder if you can wash you doggie with baking soda and vinegar first then something else afterwards. I have trouble with most shampoos. The only shampoo I can stand is Nexus " Therapy " . It has a coconut odor. I know most dog shampoos are strong but I don't know if you or your doggie have chemical problems. Just my suggestion. > > > > My heart goes out to all of us suffering. We will survive. Guest guest
The Nexus therapy sounds like a good idea. I just moved about 10 days ago and I washed the dog with a castile soap (Desert Essence brand) that contains: Potassium Solution (castile soap), Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, 100% Pure Tea Tree Oil (melaleuca alternifolia). Tea Tree oil is supposed to be an antiseptic/antifungal. I also used hydrogen peroxide in the water. I do not seem to be reacting to her, so I think it was fairly effective. I used the same approach for 4 cats, however, there is one long haired calico that I don't think I washed thoroughly enough as I was reacting when she sat on my lap for a while the other day. I'm hoping that since we don't have carpet or any other soft furnishings at this point that repeat washings of her and everything else will resolve the problem. Guest guest
I don't think that cholestyramine (CSM) has any negative side effects but you should check with a vet (on the phone) as to dogs. Some animals have a bad reaction to some drug, that is not typical, but in general, most mammals react similarly, although the dosage would need to be smaller.. Check with a vet! The cholestyramine sounds like a very good idea.. n-acetyl cysteine, and ALA in small amounts might also be helpful.. again, ask vet! .. > > >

Guest guest
Living for many year with my dog in the mold house- he had alot of the same problems I did, wheat intolerance, dog food intolerance, fungus growing all over him, ear infection, and a swollen lymp node in back of his left neck, just like me- he is OK now. > > > > My heart goes out to all of us suffering.
