Guest guest
lens fungus is something all photographers probably have heard of. I had an old german camera I loved that developed lens fungus. It was very slow growing in NYC for 20 years-but when I lived in Costa Rica for 3 months, it took over and destroyed the lens. With global warming and rising sea levels, mold is a growing threat to all of us. In coastal VA, that I left this year-locals were having trouble keeping mold off of their porches the summer of 2005-for the first time ever-my very tidy neighbor said no matter how much she scrubbed-it just grew right back. This past summer and fall were the worst so far. One of the safe houses I stayed in before I left-the man was a contractor who did mold remediation and had built safe houses for NASA-he had done everything right to keep his house from molding-it became over run with mold this fall. I really believe that people in this group who live near the water-or in very humid areas of the south east should consider moving-go see the AL GORE movie " An Inconvienent Truth " if you are not convinced of the fast pace of global warming and rising sea levels.
