Guest guest
300 mg 5x/day is what my son was on. Same approximate weight. Cheryl~Check out my blog: http://www.gryffins-tail.blogspot.com/ Hi,My child has been on Valtrex for 7 months. She still has viruses in her gut, including the EBV. She is going through some new viral die off now, but I am thinking we will now switch to Acyclovir and if it does nothing, start again on Valtrex. My mommy instinct tells me her body needs a change and Acyclovir does work on some strains of EBV and does not harm the liver (not that Valtrex was harming her liver). One drawback is that Acyclovir has to be dosed 5 times a day, but a benefit is that our pharmacy has it in capsule form so no more washing off blue coating and crushing.Does anyone know what I should tell my pediatrician for her dosing of Acyclovir?------------------------------------
