Do Schaller&Shoemaker still interpret genetic tests?

Schaller, in his 2005 book, Mold Illness Made Simple, said that he and

Shoemaker would interpret HLA tests for $35.00 USD.

My M.D. here in Calgary, Alberta, had my blood tested at LapCorp, but he

doesn't have a clue how to interpret the results-no idea how to break the

" code " of the two page report.

I mailed my test results and a US money order to Schaller to the address in

the book, Prof. Medical Services of Naples, #305, 5150 Tamiami Trail North,

Naples, FL, USA, 34103, but Canada Post's tracking information informs me:

" Item being returned to Sender, determined as undeliverable. "

What the heck?

I am very sick and getting sicker. My MD (combined allopathic and

complementary practice) and my TCM practitioners (2 qigong masters) and I

are desperate for clues.

I've had significant mold exposure (particularly 2002-2005) and can't handle

CSM (one dose a month is about all my heart, liver, etc can tolerate).

I have significant levels of mercury and arsenic in me, but classic methods

of chelation became more and more problematic the last few years (i.e. made

me ill at the time and for weeks afterward).

My body can't even handle IV drips of low doses of multivitamins or vitamin

C or glutathione.

Several years ago, my body handled some antibiotics well (for typical CFS/ME

systemic infections, pneumonia, repeat gut infections, and suspected Lyme or

similar pathogens), but I have developed increasing problems clearing most

drug residues from my body.

Hence the increasing interest in genetic problems with detoxing.

I am just going to say it. I have been on this group for quite awhile now. I do

not post very much. I feel as though I am here to read and learn mostly.

I feel as though I should tell the board about an experience that my family

had that not only could have put my child's health in more jeopardy than it

already was, but also, financially cost us (very expensive apt.s) and set us

back time-wise in getting the medical answers and help we needed.

As soon as we realized our health was comprimised due to toxic molds, we left

our home immediately. I will skip over much of our details to get to the point.

One of the first things I did was read Mold Warriors. I was reading everything

I could and speaking to experts throughout the country to do what I could to

resolve our situation and help our health.

Because of where I live, I noticed that one of the authors of Mold Warriors-

Dr. Schaller- was a doctor who I could probably get in to see more easily than

going out of state, and he was in practice for biotoxin illness. I had read the

book, respected what I had read, and thought this would be a good place to

start.

Needless to say, after a first visit (in which we were insulted because our

clothes smelled of toxins) and labs, we returned to get the results of our

childs lab work. Dr. Schaller wanted to treat our child intravenously for Lyme.

We were amazed, as this was not something that we had thought we were looking

for. Before leaving his office, we were to sign several of his standard release

forms in which he explains on each of them that in NO way is he experienced or

will be held liable with his modest self training to treat intravenously for

lyme.

We left, thought things out, cancelled the next apt. and made an apt. with an

infectious disease expert to have a second opinion. That next opinion, two more

and our last opinion- from DR. SHOEMAKER in land all came back negative.

There was never a positive Western blot or any other type of Lyme test that came

back that would have given him (or any doctor) cause to treat our child for

Lyme.

Personally, living in an area where Dr. Schaller practices, living with

biotoxin illness myself and trying to continue seeing the physicians that I have

seen locally (who I would like to follow Dr. Shoemaker's protocol -because I

absolutely respect his work and continue to be a

patient of his) I have found that in the local medical community I live in he

has done much to undermine the work of a genius (Dr. Shoemaker). I find this

unfortunate. I have to fight very hard in my town to legitimize my labs even

more than what is already a battle because of the reputation Dr.Schaller has

earned in our area. I will make an assumption that none of this was a surprise

to Dr.Shoemaker at our first visit.

In all of this though, I feel, UNLESS you are going to a physician as educated

in biotoxin illness such as Dr.Shoemaker, it can never hurt to get a second

opinion on something as important as Lyme disease etc.

It also never hurts to listen to your gut instinct and if something does not

seem " right " listen to what you are feeling. I too am sick - even when we cannot

think clearly, we still have inner wisdom.

I am not the person to ever speak poorly about someone, but I have seen and am

watching so many people struggle with this illness - if this experience can help

someone, than I don't mind being vocal and sharing this information.

My advice is send to Dr.Shoemaker.
