Guest guest
Yes. We switched to an artifical Christmas tree 12 years ago due to the reaction - I don't think it was a mold reaction, but a true allergic reaction to the evergreen, which resulted in itchy eyes, running nose and throat swelling. It's possible that there are varieties that we might tolerate, but I haven't found them yet and have difficulty with any evergreens in the house and as other's mention fresh flowers other than carnations. I've also gone houseplant free in the new house due to the potential for mold in the potting soil. -------------- Original message -------------- From: " npzjewel6 " <npzjewel6@...> Has anyone experienced a " hit " from sensitivity or mold when getting/bringing a Christmas tree into the home ? Guest guest
No, but I'm sure you could. Since I've been sick my husband hoses it down and lets it dry in the garage before we bring it inside. We've had a fresh tree for the past 3 yrs. and I've been fine but after this year we are going to look for a nice artificial one when they go on sale. I hate going to fake but I know it's the best thing to do!! Sue Has anyone experienced a " hit " from sensitivity or mold when getting/bringing a Christmas tree into the home ? Guest guest
thank you both for your responses. Someone else mentioned that if we go to an artificial tree, to be careful of off gassing. And, as we still have the tree (out on a porch), it would not hurt to hose it down and see if it helps at all. --------------------------------- Everyone is raving about the all-new beta. Guest guest
My husband and I tried a fresh tree for 2 years but we had to get take it down early. We were both bothered by it. It was the pine and maybe mold. Beautiful but we had it near the computer and got to be able to breath while sitting at the computer. lol > > > No, but I'm sure you could.
