Guest guest
NEWS 25 Takes a Closer Look at Repairing Flood Damaged Homes News 25 ville story by: Stolp http://www.abc25.com/Global/story.asp?S=5493936 EVANSVILLE - After the Tri-State's latest round of flooding, many people are left with thousands of dollars worth of damage. From waterlogged property to mold, several people need help getting their homes back to normal. But how do you know you're getting what you paid for? Sharon Freni tells NEWS 25 three weeks ago, she had eight feet of water inside her home and needed help fast. She called a man with ABCO in ville. But Freni says she was overcharged and now her entire basement must be gutted because of mold that's just started to grow. Freni tells NEWS 25 she had to call a second contractor in to fix the first's mistakes. Donnie Grubb with Rainbow International says after several mistakes made by ABCO, nothing can be saved, the room must stripped down to the bare studs. The ABCO contractor declined an on camera interview. But he did tell NEWS 25, " I did everything right and everything I could for Mrs. Freni. " The ABCO contractor also says he is not certified for this kind of work, something Grubb says is essential to look for when choosing someone to repair your home. If you're not sure about someone coming into your home, you should call the Better Business Bureau. They can tell you if the contractor is certified or not and if they've had any complaints against them. Their number is (812) 473-0202
