His upfront fee is a fraction of what the top CFS/FM doctors charges and any follow-ups are an absolute bargain compared to these other docs. His office does provide the forms that you can file with your insurance for out of network benefits and you should be able to battle them to get them considered as in-network since there's not likely an in-network doctor that is experienced in treating mold illnesses. The lab fees can really add up, but the majority of mine were run in standards labs that accept my insurance, so I paid very little out-of-pocket for those. I'm speaking from personal experience having tried to save money for several years by using local doctors and spending a lot more in pain, suffering and real dollars by paying these people that were telling me there was nothing wrong with me (and to just take high doses of a thyroid medicine to which I was allergic and just drink a glass of wine if I had trouble sleeping at nite). I even spent $600 out of pocket taking my oldest son to a top allergy doctor in our area that the pediatrician recommended. It took me over 2 years of constant searching and reading to come across Shoemaker's research and then another 6 months trying to convince my local doctor to run all the tests to finally make the trip from Texas. My local doctor happily prescribed CSM, but I had a feeling based on the gene information I already had and symptoms that I would be one of the tough cases. I'm also one of the unfortunate ones that didn't realize I had a mold issue and I was going to him for objective treatment/diagnosis for my Lyme disease, only to have him tell me I had a mold problem. It took me another 4 months to fully accept that. Since, you're already there, I can't recommend strongly enough that you travel to Pocomoke. Since seeing him, I've tried to find a local doctor that has a clue and even with the test results in black and white, most of them are still overwhelmed with the information and the theories. And, most of them don't have the time to read the materials that I'm willing to provide. It's a very sad reflection of our current medical system in this country and I wouldn't expect it to be much different in your area of the country than it is in Texas. Guest guest
Don't give up!! I just thought may be you were close enough to make the trip to MD. There must be some Drs. closer to you. I thought someone mentioned a couple of Drs. in Georgia but it was sometime ago and I can't remember who they were. Try to hang in there until we find someone for you!!!!!!! I can't go to land. I don't have a decent car to get me there. I am willing to go within 5 hours of my home. I know you all have high respect for Dr. Shoemaker but for some of us who don't have the money or proper vehicle to get there, it is impossible. Aren't there other doctors besides Dr. Shoemaker???impo mean this as no disrespect to Dr. Shoemaker but I am not wealthy and I can't take a mini vacation and I can't drive all the way to land in my shabby car. Doesn't anyone know of any other doctor on this forumn besides Dr. Shoemaker who is in the South around South Carolina????Carolina????<WBR>??? I have athena insurance and medicare. I as well give up because I really thought I could get more answers about a doctor in my area on here. Sorry if I seem flustered, I am not flustered but having an ill and sick day, my life seems to be sucked out of me... and I am at a point of giving up as i can't seem to get any answerers about medical help anywhere. I am tired of fighting this illness. Thanks anyway.
Guest guest
Check out coem.com in North ton, SC. They have been of great assistance to me. carondeen <kdeanstudios@...> wrote: CSM is what you need, and I would ask any DR you want an apt. with up front if he knows Dr Shoes work and perscribes CSM toxic binding therapy. It will save you allot of trouble.- What I did when I moved out to NM and needed to get a new script for CSM, and the local DRs knew nothing ,was call the large medical center about an hr away-Told the Medical receptionist exactly what I had and what I needed, and for her to find me a Dr-she got back to me in 2 days with an app. and now I have a Dr who is learning and gives me my meds. If I was you , I would call Shoemakers office, ask for a paitient packet, fill it out and get an appointment- that could take months-then if you need the app, you have it- you can find a way to get there if you have to- and sleep in your car if need be, others have done it. No tests except the Shoemaker ones will show mold poisoning, you can buy the " Mold Warriors " book, and show a Dr the tests- which may not even be necessary, first you need to start detoxing with CSM-see if you recover- that may be all you need. > > Thanks but I had all of those test and many many more. I do have COPD > and etc. I just need proper medical treatment. I have looked in >
