Guest guest
Ruth, I'm not sure what kind of flare ups you are having, but I sure have a lot of experience with fibromyalgia and arthritis flares. I am a big cross-stitcher and have been working very hard on a gift for my husband for Christmas, but had to put it down last night because it was hurting my hands so bad to work on it. I had a horrible flare of FMS after I did a yard sale in July. What I have to keep reminding myself is that I just can't do things that I used to do and to take it easy. My husband has to keep reminding me not to lift things or to do too much at one time. I feel very lazy, but I also feel much better physically when I don't force myself to do physical things. It aggravates me that I can't even keep my house clean, but it's just something I've had to come to accept and we have had to find room in the budget to have someone come in a couple of times a month to do the cleaning. That was probably the hardest thing for me to let go of, because I do feel so horribly lazy. It's so hard not to be able to do the things we used to do and it does make me angry and I do get on the pity party train pretty often. But if you try to take it easy and not overdo things, it can help keep the flares to a minimum. It's just a matter of remembering that you will pay if you do too much. My last flare lasted about a month and it was horrible, all because of a stupid yard sale. LOL Chelle
