Guest guest
So, seemsthe landlord failed to tell me they sprayed pestisides for roaches a few months ago. KNOWING I have chemical illness!! A neighbor told me and this and it was verified when I called the building inspector. The landlord than had to come forward with this info. No wonder I was so sick last night with total flu symptoms curled up on my moldy couch. And I was only there about 10 mins yesterday. Than today, after the heat was turned on (i paid for the oil), the pipes burst! Glad i wasnt there, a friend was. Well, I stopped pay on the check, thank goodness it wasnt cashed. Have to apt. hunt again. What A day!!! Very depressing. Guess why there's such a thing as tomorrow. Maybe i'll laugh about all this soon! Guest guest
I know this is hard for chemically sensitive individuals but if you suspect someone's sprayed for roaches and moving is not an option wet mop and dry mop with bleach or ammonia. Especially around baseboards. Wipe down all of the insides of cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom. Hire a service if you cant do this yourself. If there is carpet chances are they sprayed that too and you will need to move. Don't rent places with carpet. n Thu, 4 Jan 2007 19:10:47 -0500, you wrote: > >So, seemsthe landlord failed to tell me they sprayed pestisides for roaches >a few months ago. Guest guest
Hey Felice, why were you on moldy couch! You can get comfortable air mattress ....at discount store sporting goods section, brands like Ozark Trail or ; or bedding department. Put a mattress pad on top or foam pad on top and you've got a cheap version of a Sleep Number bed, only instead of $1,000.00+, it's about $50.00. You can also get foam furniture for something temporary. > > So, seemsthe landlord failed to tell me they sprayed pestisides for roaches > a few months ago. Guest guest
Felice--Having looked and looked a lot for a house, I can tell you most places get sprayed. I came very close to buying one which they claimed to not ever use the services of a treatment company only to discover a cache of amateur insecticides and pesticides in the garage. As far as I know, most apartments are sprayed--there is a newer gel treatment and a system now which they build into the walls which may not be as bad. In apartments, you have almost no control over what your neighbors do--if pets are allowed for example and fleas develop, then your neighbor's space can be fleabombed at anytime. Guest guest
Absolutly, Felice- I would not even consider buying a new couch untill you are totally well and living in a clean environment for a long time- otherwise it may have to go from cross-contamination. My sleeping araingments have gradually improved since March when my life went to hell-6months on Wall mart cots-then an LLBean Upscale cot- now my $49 blow up double high bed with a $20 bed topper- it feels like a $1000 bed after all those months in a tent on a cot. --- In , " barb1283 " <barb1283@...> wrote: > > Hey Felice, why were you on moldy couch! Guest guest
Felice, another reasonable idea for lounge furniture- lawn chairs if you can find some now...fold them up and carry them to next place. I looked at Walmart and nothing but I'm sure you can purchase one online. I'm not buying anything I cannot carry and put in my car, even if one at a time, until I find a permanent place that I'm sure of it, or until my house is safe. If I think house is safe, whatever I've bought goes into a storage unit anyway, until I'm <<SURE>> house is safe, like a year goes by without mold evidence. I'm also not buying anything expensive. I bought a folding table with chairs for desk work and a couple of stools to pull up to counter to have meals. I got a Lexmark printer for my laptop for $30. That's practically free, $69 less $40 instant rebate. I've heard they sell them cheap at times because they make so much on the ink refills but I'd have to buy ink for my old computer too, so it was like getting a new printer for free. Just an example of things I ran into to set myself up temporarily until I work things out. --- In , " carondeen " <kdeanstudios@...> wrote: > > Absolutly, Felice- I would not even consider buying a new couch untill
