Guest guest
Any advice here to me is better than any doctor so thanks!! So far, I've had to figure out everything myself and educate the so called doctors. I've always stayed away from doctors all my life. My line is " If it's not broke, don't fix it " you go to them and they will keep trying to fix anything with Medication you DON'T NEED. Guest guest
I agree that if it isn't broke, don't fix it. There are some problems that can only be found through lab tests. I had my rounds with doctors myself so I know what you mean. But with the hair loss, this could be a sign of a number of serious conditions that only lab tests can find. This is why I have always felt a physician was needed to rule out anything serious. A friend of mine was hospitalized about a month ago as a result of an infection he got from a spider bite. One of the first signs was the scalp where the infection spread. Now that he is cured, thanks to doctors, but he is dealing with removing the crust and hair loss where some of the infection had been. This was cured through intravenous antibiotics. He would have died had he not gotten medical help when he did. He went to the doctor and was told it was the flu. A week later he went to the emergency room half dead. Thankfully, he was admitted and got proper medical care. When he was well, he asked me what to do about the flaking and crust. Being it is cured; all he would need now is a regular shampoo and condition with the use of a shampoo brush to loosen the dead crust to remove. I have seen babies whose parents never bother to remove the cradle cap who had very little hair. Once the cradle cap was removed, the baby would sprout hair a week later! I know parents are afraid to mess around the soft spot but all one needs to do is keep a little oil on the cradle cape to keep it loose. If the dandruff, fungus, crust, cradle cap or what even it may be is not removed, one will stand a huge chance of hair loss. This also stinks when it gets really built up. I know one thing for sure, I will not touch a head that has a questionable condition until they seek medical advise and get a proper dignosis. Infection control is number one for myself and other clients, in the hair grooming business. No one would want to sit in a chair after someone with lice. Same should go with what appears to be a bad case of dandruff or any scalp issue... some of the conditions of a scalp are just as contagious as head lice. > > > > Hi, > > I just posted a long thing in message number 47664 with a few reasons > > why people have hair loss. Guest guest
In last two years between my ENT and Neuro I have had tons of blood test. Only the MMP test came back 1112 which is high and that was done last March. I forgot to ask for another last visit with ENT in October last year to see if higher or lower. I may ask if my neuro will do the test next visit b/c ENT is 2hrs away.
