Guest guest Posted October 24, 1999 Report Share Posted October 24, 1999 Hi Gang! Susie and I snuck in a little vacation this past week and have been out of touch. We had a wonderful time. We were aware that the big events coming up over the next month or so would be hectic so we just simply stole away for some fun in the sun. I'll let Susie tell you all about it in her own inimitable way. She is much better at it than I. I just got in from my flight to Phoenix and drive home and Susie will be at her home tomorrow. She put her computer in the shop for some needed repairs while she was away so she might be a few days getting back online and caught up. I am not really sure about what all has transpired in the group before I started lurking, but I do have one hint to put forth. I bought one of those lettuce spinners at a gourmet food shop. Its primary purpose is to spin the water out of a shredded head of lettuce after you've rinsed it using centrifugal force. You've all probably seen them. Anyway, one of the neat side benefits of them is to put a whole salad in the basket and add one tablespoon of salad dressing on top of the veggies and then spin the whole thing. The one tablespoon of dressing gets spread throughout the salad so completely that it almost seems like you put a whole cup of the stuff on it when you eat it! And you'd be surprised how much of that tablespoon of dressing gets all the way through and is slung(slang?,slinged?) against the sides of the outer bowl. Works great. Look for Susie soon. Bye. And yes, I was wondering where Susie was, since she was so untypically silent this past week. (But so have a lot of other regular posters for some reason). But I guess they think they have the right since we have health issues and are in the table, instead of themselves. lol Too funny!!! LOL I got a kick out of what you said about him not having a problem with your meds as long as he wasn't the one prescribing them. lol that sounds about par!! ROFL!!! That just tickled me! If you put enough energy into doubt, something will undoubtedly go wrong. Instead, focus on the positive possibilities with a hopeful attitude. Where is everyone? I look at all the messages and realize we are missing quite a few people. Where have they gone? Anyone know? I miss all the posts and the " family " feel of the group. I just had an appt with my new DR and it went okay. He took my weight and said I was overweight (geeze like I didnt know that) and I had to lose. Ok whatever. He was no skinny minnie. We went over all my meds that I take and didnt even flinch when he went over my pain meds which was nice for a change. He asked if he was going to prescribe them and I said no I have a pain doc, he seemed relieved. Then he went over my bipolar meds and realized that some of those caused weight gain and said , well do what you can. He was a very handsome doctor who was very sympathetic ( as long as he wasnt prescribing lol). I need a refill for my Ambien so we will see if he will okay that rx. He hadnt as of this am. Well thats how it went, not as bad as I thought. Still havent gotten the results of my mammogram (yuk), that wont be for another week, sigh.
