Guest guest Posted January 18, 2007 Report Share Posted January 18, 2007 Hi Barb--I'm different in lots of ways than others on this group, but the same in others......I have ALOT of short term memory loss, which affects my daily life, as well as intense fatigue most of the time. Because the toxic molds demyelinated my SPINAL CORD, I lost ALL bladder & bowel control, most of my balance, & other things--so you can see why I'm different in ways. What has helped me the most? In 1998 I had a big surgery--I had an AUS implant, which means artificial urinary sphincter. Thereafter, I got alot of my bladder control back. (If you want the article, let me know, & I'll send it to you.) The other thing that has helped me the VERY most was INTENSE physical therapy (by my " physical terrorists " , lol!) to relearn to walk. That nearly never happened.....it took many months. I now walk with the use of a cane, 98% of the time. I'm ONLY able to walk some in my home without it....I'd never dream of leaving my home without my cane. (Like not leaving home without travellers checks, lol?!) So I'd be hard put to state which of the many treatments I've had have helped me the most. I'm currently on welchol, & I see SOME improvements I think, but my severe damage from my illness will never be cured.....some 9 yrs & 3 surgeries later. God bless! ITS VERY HARD ON THE KIDNEYS & LIVER, YOU KNOW.......I USED TOPICAL LAMISIL FOR MY RASHES, & IT CLEARED THAT RIGHT UP.
