Guest guest
Congratulations on the birth of your new niece! Your sister is very fortunate to have someone like you by her side. Our daughter Kaylee was born 9 months ago with MDS, her diagnosis was a surprise to us at birth. When the doctor first gave us the diagnosis my husband and I were in shock. We didnt know what to expect. As soon as my family got the news they all rushed to our side at the hospital, some taking off of work that moment to drive over 3 hours to be at our side that very afternoon. Truthfully, I didnt want to see anyone that day, not even my mom and dad, but they had all traveled so far so my husband convinced me to let them in. They all came to the room with big smiles and lots of hugs. They had seen Kaylee through the window of the ICU before coming to me and they all congratulated my and told me how beautiful my new daughter was. They did everything I would have imagined any excited family would have done at the birth of a child born completely healthy. It was thier reaction that snapped me out of my fog and made me realize that her birth was still a celebration and that nothing is as bad as it may seem at the moment. They continue to offer nothing but unconditional love and smiles. Kaylee is so precious to all of us and the joy of all of our lives to this day. It was my family's light hearted attitude and excitement (for us no tears or talk of challenges in the future) that got me through those first few weeks. Hope that helps!
