Guest guest
I've tried glucosamine with mixed results.. i did seem to help for awhile.. then it stopped working... I got the idea from a friend who had an older horse and she used to give it to her horse literally by the bucket... Guest guest
Jeanine, one of my doctors told me to try glucosamine & chondroitin for the pain. Even though it did not help me, everyone is unique in their own way, who knows it might help you or someone else. It is suppose to be a good combo for those suffering from fibromyalgia, joint pain, arthritis.....Darlene > > glucosamine liquid for joint pain , arthritis and autoimmune diseases > 95% (GAG's) and 5% protien > http://www.bioflex.co.uk/liquid.php > > thought some might be interested in this. noticed (GAG) above is also > mentioned as cause of AS below (GAG) effect. > DDD > http://www.emedicine.com/orthoped/topic480.htm > a form of Degenerative Disk Disease (ANKYLOSING SPONDYLITIS) > spinal infection, inflamation, ,arthritis of the joints, spinal > arthritis, involves TNF, spinal fusion. bacteria > <http://www.emedicine.com/med/topic2700.htm> > 1977 Calin Porta classified AS as a inflamatory spinal disease.(see > references) > AS classified as a autoimmune disease > <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ankylosing_spondylitis> > DEBATE ON AS ( in here is references to IGA and IgG, and reference to > (GAG) below) > <http://www.risg.org/infosupp/research/medical_lit/curr_lit/9-3- > 99.htm> > the (GAG) effect GLYCOAMINOGLYCAN DEFICIENCY > <http://www.medscape.com/medline/abstract/10465666?src=emed_ckb_ref_0> > hla negative > <http://www.jrheum.com/subscribers/01/06/1203.html> >
Guest guest
FYI, ALL......I KNOW , TOO, THAT GLUCOSAMINE CHONDROITIN HELPS MANY PATIENTS FOR JOINT PAIN. BUT BE AWARE: IF YOU OR A LOVED ONE HAS BAD JOINT PAIN & THAT PERSON HAS BEEN ON STEROIDS, PLEASEEEEEEEEEEE SEE A DOCTOR FIRST. THERE'S A CONDITION CALLED AVN, WHICH STANDS FOR AVASCULAR NECROSIS, CAUSED BY STEROIDAL USE...... & THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED & TREATED PRONTO!! AND NOT BY GLUCOSAMINE. TAKE CARE, ALL. VICTORIA [] has anyone tried this? glucosamine liquid for joint pain , arthritis and autoimmune diseases 95% (GAG's) and 5% protien http://www.bioflex.co.uk/liquid.php thought some might be interested in this. noticed (GAG) above is also mentioned as cause of AS below (GAG) effect. Guest guest
For me, I think the first real, lasting reduction in my joint pain came when I started taking NAC, alpha-lipoic acid and acetyl-l-carnitine along with fish oil to try to reduce the inflammation. The glucosamine (I never took chondroitin) was not a clear enough change for me to say that it was helping.. At that point I didn't really know what was causing all my health issues, just that something was and so I went looking for things that had broad anti-toxicant effects that had no negatives associated with them.. Guest guest
Gluten intolerance is an inherited condition. Most people who are gluten intolerant carry either The HLA-DQ2 or HLA-DQ8 genes. As I understand it, something triggers the start of gluten intolerance in genetically susceptible individuals and from Dr Shoemaker’s comments it would appear that mould exposure can be a trigger. Does anyone know if MCS caused by VOC exposure can be a trigger for gluten intolerance? >This comment caught my eye. Mold exposure can cause gluten intolerance per Dr. Shoemaker. Guest guest
My understanding of Dr. Shoemaker's research is that he distinguishes between gluten intolerance and celiac disease, which does have a genetic origin. Low MSH causes a " biotoxin-associated autoimmune food " illness. Maybe someone else can explain this better, but in short the exposure to toxins reduces MSH which causes this autoimmune reaction to gluten to occur in the intestines. This reaction causes damage much like that in celiac disease. A gluten-free diet is the treatment. - > > Gluten intolerance is an inherited condition. Guest guest
You're welcome! I, and others from my former workplace were diagnosed with acute transverse myelitis. (Incidence 1-5 cases per million, but there were at least 6 people from the building in question alone!) I've been to see different docs now, & they all say the same.....toxic mold exposure. Interesting, yes? Oh well......one day that place will go where THEY deserve to go, if you get my meaning. I can't answer some of your questions, " who " , but I wonder as well. As far as brittle bones, they can be caused by steroidal use...in high dosages, as far as I know. But remember: I AM NOT A DOCTOR! I also wonder about the bad headache you had...was it a spinal headache, perhaps caused by the spinal injection? Just speculation here, but I'd ask. I believe (but I'm not 100% sure) that AVN can rear its ugly head months after steroidal use.....unfortunately! I'm happy to say that didn't happen to me, but I still wonder why. I was on MASSIVE doses of intravenous steroids when I got so gravely ill. Sorry I can't help more, but again--I'm not a doc, kiddo. Take care, [] has anyone tried this? > > > glucosamine liquid for joint pain , arthritis and autoimmune diseases > 95% (GAG's) and 5% protien > http://www.bioflex.co.uk/liquid.php > > thought some might be interested in this. noticed (GAG) above is also > mentioned as cause of AS below (GAG) effect. > DDD > http://www.emedicine.com/orthoped/topic480.htm > a form of Degenerative Disk Disease (ANKYLOSING SPONDYLITIS) > spinal infection, inflamation, ,arthritis of the joints, spinal > arthritis, involves TNF, spinal fusion. bacteria > <http://www.emedicine.com/med/topic2700.htm> > 1977 Calin Porta classified AS as a inflamatory spinal disease. Guest guest
Thanks , I think it would take more than one steriod shot to do what mold/myco exposure did to me. but I don't think steriods is a good thing to take along with mold exposure, exspecially when you have cns and spinal infections going on. it was while I was still in the first home that I had this steroid injection and the other two were not done because I freaked the doctor out because the pain of just the needle inserted in my spine made me scream and tears flooded from my eyes. good thing it scared him because theres no way I was going through that again. it was several months later with the second home that I suffered csf leaks and that home was the cause.even though I suffered cns and spinal infection from the first home and it was misserable for many years, I have no dought that the second home is what pushed everything over the edge. > > You're welcome! Guest guest
Yale has studied in clinical trials the last 30 years the use of positive reinforcement and shaping as treatment for kids with oppostional behaviors. AS kids can be very ridgid and uncooperative too. I have taken the Yale Parent and Child Training Program and it has helped. Also Yale's therapists will work with your child's school to also put these type of things in place. You can also find a certified behavioral therapist, they too will use ABA Applied Behavior Analysis (essentially positive reinforcing, shaping system). http://www.yale.edu/childconductclinic/ I looked at the website you provided. Yale would say if your child talks back to ignore it, that anything you say is a reinforcer of back talk. In the ABA/Yale what you do is praise and reward each time there is a behavior you want and ignore the ones you don't. For kids that kid there is a consequence to that. Pam > > My sister has a difficult teenager and has looked into this program. Because it mentioned ADHD,ODD and Aspergers she asked me if I had heard of it. I have not but I was wondering if any of you have ever heard anything about it.
