I had my hvac guy come today and he checked my hepa filter in my

airhandler and he said it was still OK and didn't need changing. Said

the monitor was set to go off in 12 months but that didn't mean I

needed to change yet but most do change more than once a year. My unit

is new and things inside cleaner so will last longer.

He also looked at my Sanidry air purifier/dehumdifier's filter and

prefilter and said I needed to change it. I never recall the

waterproofing company telling me I had to do that. Glad he told me b/c

been told by a place I found local that had pleated 12 X 12 filters

that I need to replace in the air purifier/dehumidier that I should

change every 3 months. Has a prefilter that I can wash and I did that

so now I have something else to keep maintained. Been a year and I

would have never known to change that filter in there and wash

prefilter if he didn't tell me that today and he isn't the one that

installed it. He also said I didn't need coils cleaned in my air

handler so he is an honest hvac guy and not just trying to make a buck

which he got that installing a new airhandler and airducts a year ago.

He told me I could change the hepa filter in airhandler myself and

order online or I have a contractor friend that can get them for me

around here. He showed me where it was and showed me the coils.

I have 3 hepa air purifiers indoors running 24/7 and use the merve 11

filter int the inside return and have a hepa filter in airhandler and a

filter and prefilter in airpurifier/dehumidifier. Lot of things to

keep up with. Glad some of them have monitors to help. You think I'm

breathing cleaner air? I sure hope so!!:)

I did find a place that sells the 12 X 12 pleated filters here and they

said $3.70 each. Does anyone have any websites where they are cheaper

than that? Of course I'd have to pay shipping but wondered if ordered

in a case or so might be cheaper. Not sure I can find 12 X 12 X 1 in

normal stores around here. The place that has them was National Air

Filters and they said they didn't have a site to order online.
