Jackie, I so envy you and others who have started and or maintain organic

gardens.

There is something very special when you eat food that you know the people

(either yourself or others) who grow the food and the love that came from them

into what you eat. It truly changes ones whole perspective of eating. This

is not something I get to experience very often and feel the lack thereof.

The best I can do to help myself as well as support the organic farmers is

buying from these small farmers at the open air markets.

Sadly, in what I have found in both myself and others is that when in crises

due to a mold exposure (as with some other extensive losses and life crises)

and the cascade of terrible events that result from this, life turns into a

survival mode. Eating healthy, exercising, spending time outdoors,

socialization and all the positive things -all go by the wayside. Life becomes

a daily

survival for the basic physical needs of food, shelter, clothing and then

health. All that is involved in dealing with the ongoing nightmare of

mycotoxin

exposure is extensive and life altering.

It is an uphill battle to fight our way back to some sort of normal

existence and stability where the real work of recovery and healing has a

chance to

begin. I am finding myself having to climb back up this mountain once again.

Thank goodness for message boards such as this one. The wealth of knowledge,

support and the contributions of the posters here is truly a gift.

After this good doctor put me on this " mold free " diet, I planted a

nice organic garden. I never had a garden in my life, I just did what

my dad, who was an organic gardener said to do as well as read a few

books. I canned my own foods and froze my foods fresh from the

garden. My garden was so huge I could not keep the weeds out but to

everyone's amazement, I had the largest veggies most had ever seen!

My only mistake was planting cucumbers next to watermelons! This

mistake made some funny looking and nasty tasting food!! Cross

pollination! I did not even have insect because I planted the plants

the book said to keep bugs out. I think it was marigolds as well as

herbs like dill.
