The nurse said my " glycosated hemoglobin " was 7.0, and I was freaking, because that was such a climb for me - plus out of normal range by 1.2. Then we got it sorted out. She had misread, and that was actually my bg, in mmoL (so bg = approx. 125 - and i had already eaten). And then I turned around and reposted it wrong in here .... \ Glycosated hemoglobin is another term for HbA1c. And it hasn't been hard work. I've been eating like this for a year and a half. I've lost only 25 pounds so far, but my insulin resistance seems to have improved, and I occasionally splurge to reward myself. I know if eat too many carbohydrates I am doing myself damage, and so it is just a matter of caring about prolonging my life and increasing my wellness. Guest guest
Susie, great to hear that you are having succes with your control! Wish it was the same for me as regards to the weight. I've lost 26lbs since january, but now it's just status quo and I need to loose some more lbs. Difficult to learn to live with that constantly hungry feeling. And all those vegetables. I think I'll go out and rob a Mcs today. Re: great test results > > > I wrote: > > << I just got my HbA1c and glycosated (spelling?) hemoglobin test results > back. Maybe you can change the composition of your diet to one that is more satisfying withing increasing the calories, ? So ... at 4 am this morning, I was lying awake, worrying over your toe! Have you heard any news regarding it? Susie
