Guest guest
Regarding drier sheets, does anyone have any suggestions on how to take the electricity out of clothes without those? I don't use dryer sheets but with humidity inside at 20% now for almost a month, pets and people are all shocking each other. I'm using more moisturizer in hope that will help some but my clothes throw sparks. I was just about to *start* using drier sheets or put downey into wash water. --- In , " ldelp84227 " <ldelp84227@...> wrote: > > The dryer might be bothering her if she use to use dryer sheets. Guest guest
Barb, Someone here suggested I use aluminum foin balled up. I guess it worked a bit. But, not the extent that dryer sheets work. My daughter is able to tolerate the " free " dryer sheets. But, some are not able to tolerate those either. Someone also told to turn the dryer to cool after they are dry. I never tried that one. Guest guest
Interesting, maybe the foil sets off all the sparks ahead of time or something..? > > Barb, > Someone here suggested I use aluminum foin balled up.
Guest guest
Works for some. But, not me. Guest guest
It doesn't work for me. The clothes are still full of static. Guest guest
Well, I can tell you none of them work for me. Can't figure out why they work for others and not me. Maybe I am just to picky when it comes to laundry. I finally tried the free dryer sheets. They seem to work fine. But, I sure do miss the smelly ones. hehehe Re: [] Re: Dryer Sheets and laundry It doesn't work for me. The clothes are still full of static. Guest guest
I hadn't noticed the 'free drier sheets'. I'll have to look. I believe they leave a waxy substance on clothes to prevent the static electricity. A friend of mine used to work for P & G here where I live told me that. At least that is what they used to do. Actually I think I heard it is better to use the fabric softener in wash machine, something about drier sheets putting out that waxy substance and getting on machine parts...? I can't remember, since at the time I wasn't using them but now since I have not been humidifying air in winter I am interested again in using a fabric softener, more skin moisturizer and hair conditioner (which I didn't use to use either), lip balm, etc, etc... > > Well, I can tell you none of them work for me. Guest guest
....and I noticed that Downy liquid fabric softener comes perfume and dye free now. In fact I noticed about 1/3 of all cleaning products advertised some perfume free version. It shows what a big problem perfumes are becoming to people and one only wonders if it is because mold or indoor air quality is becoming such a big problem. > > I hadn't noticed the 'free drier sheets'.
