Guest guest
Mine is a 3M witha VOC cartreidge. It is made especially to trap voc's we used them in the cadaver lab ar med school. if it is not rated for voc then you will not benefit from it On Fri, 2 Feb 2007, who wrote: > Date: Fri, 02 Feb 2007 00:54:47 -0000 > From: who <jeaninem660@...> > Reply- > > Subject: [] Re: M40 series masks > > I have one, cant remember what brand, dose nothing for keeping out > toxins. wore it to court. Guest guest
Angel, would you mind giving the specifics on the mask that you use and where you buy it? My daughter is on her way to medical school and this is one of our big concerns--how she will survive anatomy lab. Thanks, > > > > Mine is a 3M witha VOC cartreidge. Guest guest
Can't remember if I answered this or not...so I will proceed as if I hadn't. I got mine years ago at HOme Depot it's a 3M 1/2 face VOC mask with 2 round canisters. They from WHAT I have been told are not making the type I have. According to their site http://multimedia.mmm.com/mws/mediawebserver.dyn?6666660Zjcf6lVs6EVs6662c0COrrrr\ Q- On page 6 are the various canisters/cartridges to buy. If I was going to go back into a cadaver lab, I would go for the cartridges that are both VOC and formaldehyde. THe actual units I am not familiar with regarding comfort fit etc. BUt they do need to offgass if you are sensitive. If you offgass it, DO NOT have the cartridges in them, as the circulating air will casue them to be less effective when first using them. When they are not using the masks they should be in a bag of some kind to keep as I stated above so that they are no exposed to air. When I was in med school I was changing cartridges every 2 weeks as I wanted to make sure they were effective. Too bad I didn't wear my mask constantly I probably would not be as sick as I am now.
